The hotel located in front of Sun Beach offers ocean views from all rooms. Guests can enjoy the sunrise and panoramic views of Sagami Bay from their rooms, and at night, the beautifully illuminated scenery provides a magical experience. Within a 10-minute walk from the hotel, there are dining places and restaurants, making seaside strolls convenient. The guest rooms have different atmospheres on each floor, including modern Japanese-Western rooms, Asian twin rooms, and premier ocean view rooms. The restaurant is buffet-style, offering fresh seafood and a variety of Japanese and Western ingredients. The large public bath draws water from an on-site hot spring, allowing guests to enjoy the high-quality Atami hot springs.

"The hotel is located by the sea, a bit far from Atami Station. If you have luggage, I recommend taking the bus, as it's about a 10-15 minute walk. The breakfast selection was very rich. The room was quite spacious, and I especially loved the balcony where you could see the ocean right when you opened the door. It was also very convenient for watching the sunrise in the morning."

"I stayed at this guesthouse in Atami last December and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is quite convenient, as it’s close to Atami Station. There is a short uphill walk to reach the guesthouse, but it’s still manageable. Overall, I would rate the guesthouse 8/10. The main thing to note is that, as it’s a guesthouse, the bathroom and toilet are shared. There is also an onsen available on-site, though it requires an additional fee (which is not expensive). The onsen operates on a time schedule since it’s shared between male and female guests. The host was friendly and welcoming. I didn’t really get the chance to use facilities like the dining area or the rooftop, but the dining area has a balcony with a nice sea view, which looked great. Another big plus is that the guesthouse is within walking distance of Atami Heiwa-dōri Shopping Street, making it very convenient for food and shopping."

"I booked this hotel to watch the fireworks on the evening of the 26th. The price was double, and there were no ocean-view rooms left, only mountain-view rooms in the new building, which included breakfast and dinner for 4000 yen. It was still very expensive. Check-in was on the second floor of the old building. The staff was very inefficient, and their English was extremely poor, making communication very difficult. The room was relatively clean, and there was only enough space to open one large suitcase. We got a complimentary visit to the Fuua Onsen (which is open to the public, last entry at 9 PM). The hotel's own onsen is in the Tower Building. Towels and bath towels were provided, and the open-air, ocean-facing onsen was particularly impressive. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style. Dinner was decent, but there wasn't much to eat for breakfast. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to Atami Station every 40 minutes."

"Overall, I'll still give it five stars. Not many Chinese people come to this area, as it's better to drive yourself. Coming by train is quite troublesome, as you'd have to call the hotel shuttle to pick you up, and wait for a long time. Alright, this hotel is still worth experiencing, and I'll elaborate further. The hotel has an entrance on the seaside road, where you can take an unmanned inclined elevator up to the 6th-floor lobby. I think this inclined elevator is the hotel's biggest unique feature. Once you reach the 6th floor, you can check in. There are several self-check-in machines, and they support Chinese, which is very convenient. The entire hotel is divided into three buildings (though it should really be two). As long as you can figure out the elevators, you're all set. Take the elevator from check-in down to the third floor to find the Salone, which offers free beer, sodas (over a dozen types), a fully automatic coffee machine, ice cream, and cookies – all complimentary. Just be mindful of the time slots. The fourth floor has the hot springs, and the fifth floor has the restaurant. It's best to book the restaurant in advance; I couldn't get a reservation during my entire stay. There are also many smoking rooms, almost on every floor. The room isn't big, but it's very thoughtfully designed. It comes with a prepared hot spring basket. There are slippers, four tissue boxes, and the fridge has two bottles of orange juice and mineral water, all free. The cleanliness of the room deserves the highest rating; even the glass overlooking the sea was spotless. Gazing at that sea, it's easy to get lost in past memories... Wiping away the tears, let's continue. The Atami hot springs have a slight hint of seaweed and the water is salty (yes, I tasted it). There are four private single rooms; no reservation is needed, you can just go in if they're empty. The co-ed hot spring requires a reservation, but the others don't, and they operate almost 24 hours a day. I always went for a soak around 2 AM, and there was no one else there, avoiding any awkwardness. It's very convenient to get around from here. Opposite the inclined elevator on the first floor is a Lawson convenience store, and beyond Lawson, towards the sea, is the beach. From the 6th-floor front desk, there's an uphill slope, followed by two sets of stairs, leading to a food street. At the end of the food street are Atami Station and the largest supermarket in the area. However, it closes at 7 PM... and my daughter doesn't get out of school until 7 PM. The fourth floor is worth visiting for a drink; you can see the entire city and the sea from there. There are many restaurants nearby, and popular ones always have queues during meal times. Finally, a complaint: the hotel's parking lot is hard to find. It's up a small road off the main street. And it's a multi-story car park, so 9-11 AM is peak time for picking up cars, and it takes at least half an hour. I later parked in the car park next to Lawson; it was double the price of the hotel parking but much more convenient."

"The hotel's location is excellent. However, I was woken up at 6 AM the next morning by a fire alarm. It turned out to be a false alarm announced over the intercom. The hotel didn't offer any apology or compensation. The announcement was only in Japanese and Korean, which is really inadequate. How can such a large hotel lack multilingual staff? This is also the first time I've stayed at a hot spring hotel where I had to make my own bed – completely unexpected."

"Definitely worth the price for an onsen hotel. The ocean view and tatami style bedroom are the highlight for my stay here! There is free bus shuttle service scheduled by the hotel, as a solo traveller who doesn’t drive, this definitely is a plus point! Will book my stay at here next time when I visit Atami :)"

"Excellent hotel. Beautiful, clean, traditional. The onsen was beautiful with a view of their garden. The water was heated perfectly with immaculately clean water. All amenities were offered when you stepped out into the changing room, ear buds, lotion, hair perfume, shampoo and conditioner. As you exit to your room there are two massage chairs to enjoy. The room we stayed in was perfect, It had a view of the bay, a big balcony, and three separate rooms. I was traveling with my son and this afforded me a private room to change my clothes and be separated while we slept. Freshly pressed kimonos were provided for the Onsen or/and to attend breakfast in. Now I'll talk about the highlight.! The breakfast buffet and dinner were included in the very reasonable price. The breakfast was extensive with fish, eggs, yogurt, homemade delicious jams, salads, fresh fruit, natto, sausages, rolls, bread, pastries, a coffee machine with choice of lattes, cappuccino, etc, a juice machine, fresh milk from famous Tanna dairy, and more! It was amazing! Dinner was also delicious, changing every night with selections such as broiled fish set, fried chicken set, steak set, all were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. All came with soup, rice, main entree and dessert. The staff were welcoming, kind and caring, friendly. The manager even sent me a special note about a piece of art I was curious about. Highly, highly recommend this Ryokan. I never wanted to leave. It's just outside of Atami, in the hills, beautiful location. Go, relax, nurture yourself, I did 😊🥰"

"This hotel is about a 10-13 minute walk from Atami Station, or a one-stop taxi ride. Its biggest selling point is the multiple free private open-air baths on the rooftop, offering stunning views of Sagami Bay. The quality of their natural hot spring, which flows directly from its source, receives high praise. The ocean-view Japanese-style rooms are spacious. While the architecture leans towards a retro Showa-era style, it does show some signs of age, and some facilities are a bit worn. The dining quality isn't quite on par with top-tier ryokans. For the return trip to the station, it's an uphill walk, so taking a taxi or using a luggage delivery service is recommended. It's perfect for vacationers who want to enjoy great hot springs, ocean views, and a traditional ryokan atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel was very clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. The hot springs were also wonderful, probably because it was a weekday and not crowded. I highly recommend getting the dinner plan. For breakfast, we were able to have it in our room, which allowed for a very relaxed start to the day. As other reviewers mentioned, the坂道 (steep hill) up to the hotel was quite something. We went by car, and at one point, we encountered another car coming down in a curving tunnel. Since uphill traffic has priority, the other car had to back up the hill to let us pass. After arriving, we enjoyed walking to the shopping street in front of the station, but on the way back to the hotel, we took a taxi from the station. Even the taxi driver radioed ahead to another taxi waiting at the top of the hill to hold their position before starting the ascent. It would be great if there were traffic lights at the top and bottom. There aren't many cars coming and going, so we just hoped there wouldn't be any oncoming traffic on our way back."

"The room was really spacious and deep, which made for some truly elegant photos. Overall, this is probably one of the most upscale hotels in Atami. While there's no free shuttle to Atami Station, there's a bus stop right outside, and the front desk can also help arrange a taxi. There was a Chinese-speaking woman with shoulder-length hair and glasses, who was incredibly polite and had excellent service sense. The hotel facilities are also great; the public onsen is definitely worth trying – it's very clean and even has free drinks. Breakfast was good too; not a huge variety, but the quality was decent. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is that the hotel's Wi-Fi signal for laptops was really poor, making it impossible to work. After I reported it to the hotel, they couldn't offer any solution other than moving rooms, but they didn't have another vacant room of the same type, so that didn't work out. All in all, the hotel itself is excellent and definitely among the top-tier in Atami for quality."
