"Very noisy, the sound of doors banging was very bad (and I asked for a quiet room), view of.tall building just a few metres away,.it has to be the most expensive budget I've ever stayed in, if you need to save money try the Travelodge instead. The area even made me feel uncomfortable in the afternoon. Staff were helpful and good."

"I stay at The Angel three or four times annually and have done so now for a number of years. The location is excellent for me to visit family who live nearby. Parking at Sainsbury’s (through the gate at the rear of the courtyard) is convenient, or there is some on-road parking at the front of the property. Rooms are well appointed and always very clean. On this latest visit I had to request a room change since the door to my room was extremely difficult to unlock and then could not be closed properly from the inside. As a lone female traveller,safety and security is paramount. Unfortunately, as I experienced similar problems on my previous visit a few months ago, it appears that this may be an ongoing issue ( perhaps weather-related) that now needs to be addressed with some urgency."

"The location was good with good restaurants near by. The room was neat and clean, but was so compact. The breakfast was nice, but there wasn't much option, but good for the price."

"I wouldn’t think anything would go wrong as with one-night stays at a lot of the hotels I’ve stayed at. I love the unique the hotel exudes, very much accentuated with the internal steps, turns and multiple corridors. It can be rather challenging if you have heavy luggage, especially when it’s more than a piece. Thumbs up for Jamie (the receptionist on shift) as he has been of great help. I’d give the full English breakfast a miss if I’d stay for more than a day as it’s virtually drenched in oil. There’s a pressure pump in the bathroom which sounds every 20 minutes and that made it difficult to sleep as I’m a light sleeper. The room which I have been assigned heats up when the sun hits the west facade of the hotel and it’s very uncomfortable if one doesn’t leave the room. All in all a pleasant stay and I hope my feedback will provide some impetus for improvement. "

"The best hotel we have been in this trip, lovely buildings, nice reception, and a perfect breakfast, room is big and bed is very soft and comfortable. Very clean and quiet for a nice evening, outside you can see the cathedral, generally, I will choose here again in the future"

"Excellent all round. £25 extra for a dog seemed a bit expensive but no real complaints...a totally dog friendly place."
