When in Lujiazui, Pudong Shangri-La is always my first choice. The hotel is well-maintained, and Sean Zhu, the front desk manager, arranged my room in advance. I'm very satisfied with it – it's spacious with a great view. He was friendly and polite. The room was exceptionally clean, and any requests were promptly attended to. During check-in, he also helped register my license plate into the system. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

I liked the pool (very clean and beautiful), but housekeeping and gym/spa staff must be trained more (especially English language and manners). 

Horizontal lounge is amazing. Staff is friendly, variety of food and drinks. But breakfast is better downstairs in the main restaurant than in the lounge.

As a loyal Shangri-La guest, I always prioritize staying with them whenever I'm in a new city. This hotel's location is excellent, right below Taikoo Li and the subway station, making transportation very convenient. In Shanghai, shared bikes and the subway make getting around a breeze. The Horizon Club's afternoon tea and Happy Hour offer a great ambiance and good food. For a more extensive breakfast, I opted for the main restaurant on the first floor, which had a wider variety of choices. I particularly liked the direct drinking water tap at the in-room bar, which made boiling water and making coffee very convenient.

The ultimate hotel at Hongqiao Airport, and it truly lives up to its reputation. My son really wanted to see planes up close. We'd previously stayed in a runway view room at the Marriott, which was great. This time, we booked the Shangri-La Executive Airport View Suite. It's an approximately 88-square-meter, linear layout with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the runway. You get an unobstructed view of planes taking off and landing – wings soaring through clouds during the day, and golden-edged sunsets in the evening. It's truly a sight you never get tired of.

The most pleasant surprise was the soundproofing – the hotel uses four layers of soundproof glass. Lying in bed, you can't hear any plane noise at all, and I slept unexpectedly soundly.

The suite comes fully equipped:

🛏️ Master bedroom + separate living room. The bedding is noticeably superior to standard rooms.
🍳 Washing machine, microwave, and induction cooktop are all provided, perfect for longer stays.
🚿 Master bathroom + guest bathroom with double showers, Hansgrohe showerheads + Dyson hairdryer.
☕ Capsule coffee machine + direct drinking water dispenser + complimentary minibar.
📺 65-inch TV + JBL audio + smart room controls.

As the world's first all-Horizon Club hotel, all rooms include executive lounge privileges. The Horizon Club Lounge on the 12th floor is the heart of it all:

Breakfast: Lanxi beef noodles, freshly wrapped wontons, Donghe roubing (meat pastry), Youbu soy milk – authentic Jiangnan flavors.
Afternoon Tea: Starts at 2:30 PM, perfect for watching planes by the window and relaxing.
Happy Hour: Starts at 5:30 PM, with fried rice, BBQ meats, and special cocktails. If you don't have high culinary demands, it can easily serve as dinner.

And the location is a true game-changer – direct access to the departure level of T2. If you have an early morning flight, you're practically there upon arrival. Just a two-minute walk with your luggage to check-in. They also provide a quick security check pass for the dedicated Channel 5 at T2 domestic departures.

💡 Minor drawbacks: The hot water pressure was a bit low, and there weren't many Western options at breakfast. But these are minor issues; it's hands down the best choice for a layover in Hongqiao or catching an early morning flight.

We stayed for four nights with our child, and the facilities and service were excellent, truly five-star standard. The only thing missing was robot delivery service for meals, but picking up from the express locker at the door wasn't inconvenient at all, quite handy actually. The location is superb, right at Guomao, and with Metro Lines 1 and 11 nearby, it's incredibly convenient to get to the Forbidden City, National Museum, and Universal Studios. There are also tons of shopping and dining options all around.

I have to give a huge shout-out to Hanna at the front desk! I booked a ”pay-at-the-property” room this time and was a bit worried about a complicated payment process. But Hanna was super efficient, sending a QR code for payment right away and guiding me through it. The whole thing took less than two minutes. To top it off, she proactively upgraded our room for free, and we found a welcome fruit platter waiting for us as soon as we entered – instantly putting us in a vacation mood. After checking out, I contacted her to get an invoice, and she responded incredibly quickly, no delays at all. The entire experience was simply seamless. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in this city, all thanks to front desk staff like her who deserve repeat business!

Terrible experience!

1. Abysmal Service and Customer Humiliation
On August 29, 2026, I was staying at the hotel with my two-month-old baby. Feeling unwell due to a cold, I requested to extend my stay at the front desk. Instead of assisting, the front desk staff refused, citing that the twin room was 'reserved by a group.' They then chastised me, asking 'why didn't you extend your stay earlier?' and proceeded to 'teach' me how to book a hotel. Their tone was full of sarcasm and superiority, making me feel humiliated. As a postpartum mother, this attitude went beyond professional boundaries.

2. Lack of Basic Human Care
Even though they knew I had a baby and I proactively asked for a mask, the hotel not only failed to provide any assistance but also took a crude 'either change rooms or check out' approach regarding the extension, completely disregarding the critical need for a stable environment for a baby and a new mother.

3. Booking System Lacks Emergency Mechanisms
The hotel was fully aware that I was traveling with a baby and large baby items, yet they demanded I vacate the room without any prior warning. This clearly exposed their lack of contingency plans for long-term guests and those with special needs.

I spontaneously decided to take my child on a trip and stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel. First, let's get to the conclusion: the hotel's environment and facilities are excellent. The indoor children's entertainment facilities and outdoor water play areas are fantastic. Dining is convenient, with plenty of delicious food and even baby food, which is great for families with children. However, the room interior was just average and rather ordinary, and the soundproofing was mediocre, leaving much room for improvement.

Facilities: To support the 2022 Winter Olympics, the hotel was built in 2021 and is located in Shougang Park, converted from an old factory building. The front desk is on the third floor, while the first and second floors primarily house restaurants and banquet halls. The combination of industrial and natural styles is very creative overall. However, the rooms are quite ordinary and unremarkable. In response to energy conservation and environmental protection, the hotel does not provide bottled water or other beverages. Children's amenities need to be requested separately from the hotel front desk.

Hygiene: Overall, the hygiene was good, and the room was quite clean. However, there was some mold in the room I stayed in, which I recommend addressing promptly.

Environment: On the first floor, there's the Bud Garden and outdoor water play facilities, making it great for families with children. I recommend going early at 10 AM or after 6 PM, when there are fewer people. Special thanks to the staff at Bud Garden for their politeness and strong service awareness. The surrounding Shougang Park has a beautiful environment and offers many activities.

Service: The food is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. The Power Plant Bar offers the most beautiful moments in the evening.

The hotel's interior facilities are a bit dated, but the service quality is absolutely fine. It's very close to Luohu Port, within walking distance. The executive lounge offers à la carte breakfast, which is a nice touch, so I'd still recommend staying here. My only minor complaint is that they charge 15 RMB per page for printing, which feels a bit unreasonable for just three pages.

Had an amazing weekend stay here. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the Futian CBD, surrounded by great shopping malls and parks. We tried the buffet at Café Zen, and the seafood selection was fresh and diverse. The indoor heated pool and gym facilities were excellent and well-maintained. The room was luxurious, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. It is a perfect oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Special thanks to the staff for their warm hospitality!

My stay at Shangri-La Shenzhen Nanshan truly exceeded all expectations, I simply have to rave about it!

💁 Butler Service: Nico was incredibly attentive!
Nico called me in advance to confirm my check-in needs and preferences. On the day of arrival, she even upgraded us to a bay view room on a higher floor with a stunning view, free of charge. She personally escorted us from the ground floor all the way to our room, explaining all the facilities and providing helpful tips along the way – so thoughtful! During our stay, any request we had was met with an immediate response. Nico, our butler, was truly caring, gentle, and professional.

🌃 Night View: The 'cloud-level' vista was absolutely breathtaking!
The hotel lobby and guest rooms are mainly located from the 66th to the 78th floor. Even before entering the room, you can overlook the entire Shenzhen Bay, which is truly stunning. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows on the higher floors offer an exceptionally expansive view, with Shenzhen Bay and the city skyline spread out before you. In the evening, the golf course, the 'Spring Bamboo' tower, and Shenzhen Bay are all visible, making the scenery particularly amazing. Gazing at the city lights from the 66th floor, any fatigue instantly melted away.

🍽️ Dining: Both the buffet dinner and breakfast were plentiful!
The dinner buffet offered an incredibly rich variety of dishes, with seafood, sashimi, desserts, and Haagen-Dazs ice cream – everything you could wish for. The hotel's breakfast buffet was also very extensive, with many options. The freshly made congee, fresh coconut opened on the spot, and authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum were all fantastic. The freshly made rice noodle rolls and morning tea dim sum were also very authentic. Breakfast was enjoyed at the high-altitude restaurant on the 66th floor, offering panoramic views of Shenzhen Bay. Eating breakfast by the window, while enjoying the scenery, was pure bliss.

Overall, the service, views, and dining were all top-notch. I'm grateful that my Trip.com Black Diamond membership's 'one city, one room' benefit allowed us to experience the charm of Shangri-La Nanshan.
