Staying at Shangri-La Shanghai was exactly what a city escape should feel like: luxurious without being fussy, courteous without feeling formal.

We were on the 25th floor, and the view of the river was the best part of the day — morning light on the Huangpu, the skyline stretching out, and at night the Pearl Tower glowing just down the road. It’s quiet up there, real tranquility despite being so close to all the tourist attractions.

The comfort carried through everywhere: the indoor pool and jacuzzi were perfect for unwinding, the gym had everything we needed, and the grand lobby is lined with high-end stores if you feel like browsing. 

But the thing we’ll remember most is the afternoons — tea time in the lobby with a live folk music performance drifting through the space. It turns the whole lobby into something calm and beautiful.

Courteous staff, comfortable rooms, and a location that puts you right in the heart of Shanghai. We’ll be back.

On a business trip, I stayed at this iconic high-rise luxury five-star hotel located at 1218 Yan'an Middle Road, Jing'an District, within the Jing'an Kerry Centre complex. It's situated in the core commercial area of Nanjing West Road and Jing'an Temple, making it easily accessible from Jing'an Temple Station on Metro Lines 2, 7, and 14. Its proximity to Plaza 66 and Réel Department Store also makes it incredibly convenient for shopping and getting around.

The hotel's 508 rooms and suites are located on floors 30 to 59. Each room features panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering stunning views of the gilded pagoda of Jing'an Temple from inside, and a breathtaking cityscape with dazzling lights in the evening. The rooms are equipped with marble bathrooms, branded toiletries, and smart living amenities, ensuring maximum comfort during your stay.

Excellent location, and I loved the elevator area – the little pointer design was a fun touch.

The room was small, but the view was great, and it had a super large sofa. I really liked the consistent design of the bedside tables, which were very convenient for charging devices.

The mirror was oddly dim, and there was only one sink. It did come with a Laifen hairdryer.

The shower was fantastic; the water pressure was perfectly controllable, and there was a wide range for temperature adjustment. The toiletries have been changed, and they're no longer the slippery kind from before. The bath towels were even thicker than those at the airport Shangri-La.

The pool is on the first floor and the gym on the second. The equipment is comprehensive, and the space is huge. They even have a massage gun! A minor regret is the lack of dedicated machines for glute exercises.

I'm not sure why there weren't any weighing scales anywhere.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing, served on the first floor from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. During my stay, it was the APEC conference, so even at 10 AM, there were lots of people and a constant queue. They generally kept replenishing dishes until 10:30 AM, but at precisely 10:30 AM, everything was cleared out very thoroughly. There was no pickled vegetable and shredded pork topping, and the noodles were just so-so – the topping wasn't salty enough, making it taste bland and watery.

I'd suggest extending breakfast by half an hour when there are many guests, otherwise, eating feels like a battle.

A perfect experience! The 'first-class cabin' within Hongqiao Airport.

My stay at the Hongqiao Airport Shangri-La was fantastic! The hotel is directly connected to Terminal 2, just a two-minute walk to the departure level, and super convenient for getting to Hongqiao Railway Station. For travelers catching an early flight or on a layover, the location is absolutely ideal.

Despite being an airport hotel, there's absolutely no need to worry about noise. The room was very spacious and elegant, clean and tidy. I heard the windows use four layers of soundproof glass, so it was incredibly quiet at night, allowing me to sleep soundly until I woke up naturally. The most amazing part was the airport view from the floor-to-ceiling windows; you can sit by the window and watch planes take off and land. The view is spectacular and offers a unique sense of calm.

The hardware facilities are high-end and complete. As an all-Horizon Club hotel, both the breakfast and afternoon tea in the executive lounge were rich and delicious.

A special shout-out to Charlene! From check-in to check-out, her service was warm and attentive, not only professional and efficient but also very thoughtful and considerate, making us feel right at home.

Whether for a business trip or a travel layover, this place is the top choice and definitely worth recommending!

As a five-star hotel, it absolutely delivered on luxury and offered an amazing experience.

The location deserves a special mention – it's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. You can walk to both Metro Line 1 and Line 10, making travel completely effortless. Step out of the hotel, and you're right at a shopping mall with so many shopping and dining options it's hard to choose. All your retail therapy and foodie cravings are easily satisfied.

The room was an even bigger surprise. It was incredibly spacious and bright with excellent natural light. The floor-to-ceiling window, in particular, offered an incredible view. Lying down and enjoying the scenery was pure bliss. The amenities were also complete, and the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable. I slept like a baby, straight through till morning, feeling completely refreshed.

Breakfast is also worth highlighting. There was a wide variety of both Chinese and Western options, so many choices that I was able to have a satisfying meal every morning.

The customer service was warm and polite throughout, always thinking of the guests' needs. The service was exceptionally thoughtful, truly deserving of high praise!

I had such a wonderful stay these past few days. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit~

The hotel service, as always, was professional and meticulous. The staff were patient, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. Even before check-in, the hotel departments noticed from the booking that there would be children staying, so they decorated the room in a child-friendly way early on, with all sorts of children's amenities readily available, and even bananas among the welcome fruit, which kids love. Both during check-in and check-out, we encountered Miss Sun Yue. She's an excellent employee who can consider issues from the customer's perspective, quickly come up with solutions, and resolve problems efficiently. Although this stay was very satisfying, there's one detail I hope the hotel management pays attention to. There's a sign at the entrance of the executive lounge clearly stating that guests in inappropriate attire or disposable slippers are not allowed. However, during afternoon tea and breakfast, a few guests who disregarded this rule still entered, which certainly affected other guests and made the sign seem pointless.

After two years, I revisited Beijing for a 4-day, 3-night trip and chose the China World Summit Wing, Beijing, located by the Third Ring Road.

**Environment**: The hotel view is absolutely stunning, situated on the 70th floor directly facing the Zun Tower and the 'Big Trousers' (CCTV Tower). The sunrise 🌅 was especially breathtaking!

We upgraded to a Grand Premier Executive King Room, which was quite spacious, with excellent facilities and a very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was incredibly luxurious, featuring an à la carte menu and attentive service. While I wasn't keen on the traditional Beijing stir-fried liver, everything else was exquisite and delicious. Afternoon tea and happy hour were also very rich and diverse. For a window seat with a view, it's best to go early.

I have two minor suggestions: firstly, the shower water temperature fluctuated quite a bit, especially towards the end of a shower, needing significant adjustments to stay warm; secondly, happy hour felt a bit too much like afternoon tea. It would be perfect if there were more options for hot dishes.

Overall, I'm very satisfied and would consider staying here again on my next visit to Beijing.

This is my second time staying here, and both times I've chosen a room with a courtyard, which I absolutely love! The room isn't huge, but the layout is quite pleasing. The service was excellent, no complaints at all! They even set up a birthday surprise for my child, which I really appreciate. Looking forward to my next stay! 

Regarding the 'Xuan Ying travel photography perk': I wasn't aware of this, didn't know it existed.

The service throughout my stay was thoughtful and thorough, truly living up to a five-star standard. The front desk efficiently handled my check-in with politeness, and the concierge proactively offered to help with my luggage. Room service was prompt and meticulous. The turndown service even included a special bookmark, which really showed attention to detail. The staff were responsive and enthusiastic, making me feel very welcome. As a hotel that's been open for over thirty years, the facilities do show their age a bit. The bathroom design felt dated, and some room types didn't have a separate shower and bath, meaning I had to shower in the tub, which wasn't the most efficient use of space. The soundproofing was decent; I occasionally heard minor noises from the hallway, but it didn't disrupt my rest overall.

The service was excellent, including the concierge, cleaning staff, and the check-in desk. The location is super convenient, with Coco Park and Link City within walking distance. The room was comfortable, clean, spacious, and bright. A very pleasant hotel overall.

The sun was shining brightly that day! (Partly cloudy, 25-32℃) with a yellow thunderstorm and strong wind warning. First, a big thank you to Alice 🍐 for her thoughtful service! She had already booked afternoon tea for me even before I checked in. I arrived at the Shangri-La Hotel Nanshan by subway at 10:45 AM and checked in. The front desk attendant was very welcoming! The room (68F) had a unique decor style (upgraded to a Bay View King Room)! The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a perfect view of the China Merchants Bank Headquarters. Enjoyed: a 2D movie at the Grand Hyatt Cinema (Shenzhen Bay Raying Laser IMAX branch) (Hall 5, 9:00 PM/11:00 PM); Ate: 'seasonal' afternoon tea at the 66F restaurant; Breakfast was excellent 🥕🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃, and the service was impeccable. Account paid (3559 Wenmu) 23 Si N99/Double 🍉 ☕🍌🍍🍓🍒💦💧2🍈🥭🍇🐂🐟❗️
