Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hurghada – A 5-Star Resort That Feels Like 2 or 3 (depending on the topic). Before booking Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hurghada, we did our research—watched videos, checked reviews, and set our expectations accordingly. Listed as a 5-star hotel on Google and TripAdvisor, we expected a premium experience. However, once we arrived, we quickly realized that the reality fell far short of the rating.

1. The “All-Inclusive” That Isn’t Quite All-Inclusive

The hotel advertises six restaurants, but the all-inclusive package only grants access to three—and even that comes with strict limitations. You must stay at least five nights to even qualify for reservations; otherwise, the buffet is your only guaranteed option. But even if you meet the criteria, getting a reservation is a struggle, and once inside, you’re pushed to pay extra for items outside the package. The upselling is relentless, from premium wines to certain dishes, turning what should be a relaxing meal into a sales pitch. Oh, and if you were hoping for fresh juice with breakfast? Extra charge.

2. Facilities: Decent, But Not 5-Star Worthy

✔ The pool, beach area, and lounge are well-maintained.
✔ Bars are available all day, and staff work hard to keep areas clean.
✖ Some rooms show clear signs of neglect, making this feel nowhere near a true 5-star hotel.

If this hotel were truly 5-star, there wouldn’t be visible maintenance issues, questionable service, and inconsistent quality across the board.

This was my first time staying at a hotel of this brand. The overall facilities were excellent, and the service was very warm and welcoming. The only downside was the food.

This beach hotel and the Water Cube hotel are just across the street from each other, door to door. The street is designed like a prop within a tourist attraction, creating a strong sense of unity. The restaurants and beach facilities on both sides are shared, so you can book either one. There are many small shops along the street, staying open late, perfect for an evening stroll. However, there's not much worth buying – mostly generic souvenirs and a ton of counterfeit designer goods.

Since we were traveling as a family, we booked a family room. It was quite spacious, facing the swimming pool and the sea, with an unbeatable view. We could fully appreciate the incredibly blue Red Sea and watch the sunrise. The room door opened onto a corridor facing west, offering breathtaking sunset views with the sky ablaze with vibrant colors.

The hotel's public areas are very large, with a swimming pool, beach, golf course, diving, surfing, table tennis, billiards, spa, and more. It has everything you could want; it felt like we could stay for a long time.

The hotel restaurants are divided into two types: those included in the all-inclusive package and those requiring payment. I have to complain about the fact that while all the restaurants advertised reservations, you could actually eat there without any problems. The main restaurant was absolutely terrible. I ate breakfast and dinner there, and apart from the noodles, eggs, and fruit, everything else was awful. The meat was poor quality; the shrimp and crab were dead (the meat was mushy), the smoked salmon was incredibly salty, the octopus was inedible, and all the juices were diluted. I recommend the poolside restaurant; the drinks and steaks are quite good. The pizza at the beachside restaurant is pretty good. The drinks at the lobby bar are varied and decent, but it's a bit of a shame that the fruit juices aren't free.

For this price, if you're not too picky about food, you could easily stay for a few days. Of course, it would be even better if the hotel could add more high-quality restaurants and make reservations easier.

From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of peace and luxury. The service? 💯 Simply amazing. Every single staff member I interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely cared about making my stay unforgettable. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, to the restaurant staff – everyone was so helpful, attentive, and always greeted me with a smile. It’s rare to find such consistently outstanding service.

The rooms are elegant, spacious, and spotless, with everything you need for total comfort. The resort offers so many relaxing spots – from the private beach areas to the stunning poolside – perfect for unwinding with a drink in hand and just enjoying the calm vibes.

The hotel is very beautiful, showing off the beauty of the sunrise over the Red Sea. There are three swimming pools, which are large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is of high quality, especially the buffet. I hate buffets, but this high-quality and extremely rich buffet can last for several days.

It's great that it's only for adults. You can use all the other hotels and restaurants of the same hotel group for free, all of which are 5 minutes away. The beach belonging to the hotel is very small. There are not enough sun loungers in the pool area. The service is great.

I believe this would be my favorite hotel no matter how many years pass.

My trip to Luxor was fantastic, largely thanks to this hotel. Located on the east bank of the Nile, it's not super close to the city center, requiring a taxi, which contributes to its peaceful ambiance. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the public areas and gardens are beautifully maintained. The main restaurant and pool face directly onto the Nile, offering stunning views of hot air balloons rising over the West Bank in the mornings and breathtaking Nile sunsets in the evenings. My city-view room had a balcony overlooking the lobby garden. While the room's facilities were quite retro, the lighting dim, and the AC a bit noisy, the bed was large and incredibly comfortable. The bathtub was perfect for a relaxing soak, and bottled water was replenished daily (though you have to ask for toiletries). Overall, the service was excellent. Staff were proactive in helping with luggage, and getting a taxi was incredibly convenient – just register the license plate at the front desk for access through the gate. Finally, a special thank you to Walid. My suitcase was damaged, and Mr. Walid proactively came to my room with tools to help repair it, all while engaging in a friendly chat. His warm and attentive service was deeply appreciated, as was the service from every staff member at Steigenberger. Luxor is a beautiful place. Visiting its magnificent sites and meeting such kind people made me incredibly nostalgic. I will definitely be back.

This is a very nice hotel located centrally in Luxor and only a very short distance from sites such as Luxor Temple. The room and facilities were lovely, and all the staff members were excellent and could not do enough for you. We love the pool area and the views to the Nile were stunning. Restaurants were good, we tried them all. Superb hotel

Stay was good but there was no hot water to take bath, we checked out without taking bath which is really horrible, the technician came to attend the complaint, having very little knowledge about the hot water, according to him, if water is in room temperature its hot water😁😁, really funny guy.
If they correct these problems, then its ok, so requesting everybody please check these small things before checking in. It will make ur stay wonderfull.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating—especially Ms. Evelyns and Mr. Dev. They kindly upgraded us to a penthouse, which made our stay even more amazing. They were always ready to assist with our requests and ensured everything was perfect.

The location is ideal, close to restaurants and main attractions. The breakfast selection was also excellent. Highly recommended, and we will definitely come back
