No stress for sightseeing and photos! Downstairs, there are photo-worthy cafes, concept stores, and highly-rated restaurants. It's also a 10-minute drive from Shanghai Railway Station. Getting up at 6:30 AM to catch the high-speed train was a breeze! The common areas are also quite clean and orderly. This time, they provided slippers and toiletries. The mattress in the king room is so soft, it's already become my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Shanghai! If you don't know where to stay, just stay here! "Fair warning: I have seen a couple of hostels in Shanghai central area. This one has clean bed and sheets. The others with 9.6 mark on this app have bedding with menstruation blood. This one has great location, good staff, but a problem with showers not letting water out so I do not know how many breaks during showering you have to take not to make flooding in room. Could be general Shanghai issue as city center stinks of sewage. The staff is amazing and the bed is clean unlike others, but I want other travellers to know true experience. I notice marks on websites don't mean anything regarding places I have entered in China. Had to rebook on same day already twice."

"The closet door in the room was broken, so I couldn't store anything. The handle next to it was loose, the toilet door couldn't be closed, and the shower head couldn't be hung up or held. Overall, aside from these issues, it's a very worthwhile place to stay. Of course, this is assuming you're not embarrassed if someone walks in on you while you're on the toilet (which happened to me, and we ended up staring at each other). When I asked to switch rooms, even though Ctrip and ** (a lot of other booking platforms) showed available rooms, customer service said there were no rooms and it was full. So how is it that some people, like an angry older lady, can make a fuss and get a room?"

"This place is great! It's super close to the subway station and has a nice courtyard and a spacious common area in the lobby. The check-in process is well-explained, and the front desk service is excellent – they handle issues very promptly. The facilities are good too: free washing machines on the second floor and a drying area on the third. The overall environment and atmosphere are really pleasant. There's also a free water dispenser on the first floor, along with tissues and other essentials, which is a thoughtful touch. I'd definitely come back again if I need a place to stay!"

"I stayed there for four nights, and they were some of the best nights I’ve ever had. The hotel staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. They spoke English very well, which made everything so much easier.
My roommates were also extremely sweet and friendly, and they spoke English too. I made so many great friends during my stay.
One of my favorite things about this hostel was that they organized social activities like game nights and movie nights. These events made it so easy to meet people and make new friends. Even if you’re traveling solo, you definitely won’t feel lonely.
It was the best solo trip I’ve ever taken, and I would definitely stay there again. The hostel deserves a 10/10!"

"I chose this hostel for my trip, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The room size was just right, with plenty of lockers to store all my personal belongings securely. The entire place was well-ventilated, so there was no stuffy or damp smell, and the bedding was soft and clean. The common kitchen and lounge areas were fully equipped, perfect for brewing a simple cup of tea and chatting with fellow travelers from around the world. The hallways and bathrooms were always kept dry."

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and proactively addressed noisy situations to maintain a peaceful environment – a major plus in my book!"

Guest UserI arrived two weeks before school started, and after checking out several places, I decided to stay here. The location is super convenient, just a few minutes from Ruijin Medical School and the lab. As for value for money, it really pays off for longer stays. It's generally quiet, has its own cafe, and they even provide a fridge, microwave, disposable chopsticks, and gloves. The bed has plenty of outlets, which is great. I was also quite happy with the cleanliness; it's a nice touch that every toilet has disinfectant.

Guest UserI moved from a 6-bed female dorm to a 4-bed female dorm, but to my surprise, the 4-bed dorm was actually a bit narrower than the 6-bed one. I didn't expect that.
Honestly, I also found the common areas a bit cramped. There are only three showers in the female bathroom, but a plus compared to Hostel No. 1 is that the showers and toilets are separate. Also, their mattresses are thicker than at Hostel No. 1. I dropped something once and checked under the bed, and noticed they even have a pretty big dust mite repellent sachet, which was nice. I think their beds are a bit more comfortable and better to sleep on than at Hostel No. 1.
The front desk service was decent too; they'd solve any issues promptly.

After staying in the first room on the first night, I booked another room in the same hotel for the second night. This room was slightly more expensive (around 10 RMB more) but it had a window facing the road.
The room had all the same basic amenities as the first one, including Wi-Fi, slippers, dental kit, shower gel, towels, and a hairdryer. The cleanliness was also just as good. The room was very clean with no dust, and the bathroom was neat and well maintained.
Compared with the first room, this one was slightly larger and felt more comfortable mainly because of the window. The window provided natural light and ventilation, which made the room feel much more open and pleasant.
Overall, everything I mentioned in my previous review about the hotel—such as the cleanliness, basic amenities, reasonable price, and convenient location—also applies to this room. The only difference is that this room is slightly bigger and has a window, which makes it a bit more comfortable.
If you are deciding between the two, paying a little extra for the window room is worth it. It is still very affordable for this location and provides a more comfortable stay.

Guest UserThe location is great, very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get to The Bund and Nanjing Road. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The hostel itself is quite clean; both the common areas and bathrooms are regularly tidied, which gives you peace of mind. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The hostel has a good atmosphere; you can sit and chat or relax in the lobby, which is perfect for solo travelers. The bunk beds have curtains, offering decent privacy, and there are sockets and a small light by the bed – everything you need is there. For this price in Shanghai, it's really excellent value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Guest UserThe location is a big plus – it's very close to People's Square, making it super convenient to get around Shanghai's attractions by subway. For a city center location, the price-performance ratio was a pleasant surprise.
I stayed in a female dorm with six beds. Each bunk had its own curtain, which provided excellent privacy, and there were lockable lockers for valuables. The bedding was changed promptly, and the air conditioning worked well.
The public bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sinks. The female shower area was decorated very cutely, and even during peak hours, I didn't have to wait long. The resident cat was very gentle, and petting it during my downtime at the hotel was incredibly therapeutic.
There's a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage is very convenient, and there's also a washing machine available.

Cleanliness: well it is clean. Except for th Comfort room there is a yellowish on the side floor.
When you open the door, you will see the snall kitchen and on its front the small comfort room. The bed is big and nice even the cabinets and table.
There is no hair blower. The ref is not working.
It was a cheapest and nice apartment hotel as it is like a small condo for a couple.
