"This is the best hotel! Speaking Mandarin as a mainland traveler is completely fine here! The only downside is that the hotel isn't very well-prepared for medical situations. When you feel unwell, they don't have much to offer besides advising you to go to the hospital, and there’s no shuttle service for that, so you just have to take a taxi. Everything else is a plus: First of all, a huge thank you to Dorsett Kai Tak for upgrading my room! The room was very spacious with a separate wet and dry bathroom. The shuttle bus is super convenient—just follow the timetable, and it drops you right off at the Airside MTR station. Airside was actually where we went most often for food. The shuttle bus staff were also wonderful and helped us with our luggage. The pool is open from around 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and the lifeguards are always on duty, which felt very professional. The breakfast area has a wide variety of food, plenty of space, and is kept spotless. If there’s even a small spill in the lobby, dedicated staff immediately come to clean it up—they even wipe down the condensation dripping from cold drinks onto the tables. That said, I hope you might consider the habits of mainland guests and provide some hot water options, including hot milk at breakfast. Thank you! You need a key card to access guest floors in the elevator, and the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming. I’m already back home now, and looking back on this trip, I'm truly grateful for our stay with you. Oh, and regarding the hotel's eco-friendly policy, disposable toothbrushes can be bought from the vending machine downstairs for just HK$1, which is super convenient. I highly recommend Dorsett Kai Tak! Every day, breakfast was what I looked forward to most—the BBQ pork buns (char siu bao) were absolutely delicious. I didn’t originally have the best impression of Hong Kong because I got heatstroke and the National Day crowds were overwhelming, but because of you, I'd gladly visit Hong Kong again. "The hotel's location near Kowloon Walled City was initially a bit of a concern, even for a business trip where I wouldn't have time to explore. However, after exiting the subway and walking a few hundred meters to the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, the bedding was very comfortable, and there was even a shuttle bus to West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station. It turned out to be the best alternative to staying at a hotel closer to West Kowloon that I had originally planned. Pictures 1 and 2 show the exterior view from a high-floor smoking room, and Picture 3 is the drop-off point for the free shuttle bus at West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station."

"Rating: 4/5 — ”A no-nonsense workhorse of a hotel with a stellar location and a squeaky personality” To be completely honest, I chose this hotel purely out of cold calculation. I was attending a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, and the idea of ”walking to the arena in three minutes without even stepping outside” sounded like a dream. And you know what? Harbour Plaza Metropolis didn't disappoint on that front. Everything else, though, is a roll of the dice. Location is its superpower. You step out of Hung Hom MTR station, walk across the covered pedestrian bridge, and a couple of minutes later you're in the lobby. No rain, no scorching sun, no need for a taxi. The hotel is connected to Metropolis Mall—there's a supermarket, pharmacy, and cafes right downstairs. After the concert, when all of Kowloon was gridlocked in traffic jams, I simply strolled across the bridge and was back in my room. That feeling of ”I'm already home while everyone else is scrambling for a taxi” makes it easy to forgive a lot. And you will have to forgive a lot. The hotel is old, and it doesn't try to hide it. The hallway carpet probably dates back to the handover of Hong Kong; the room air conditioner hums like it's trying to achieve lift-off; and the check-in queue at the front desk takes about forty minutes. The staff are polite, but seem almost hypnotized—smiling and nodding while their eyes scream ”next!” On the bright side, the housekeeper was the sweetest person on earth and even left me a handwritten note wishing me a good day. It's a small touch, but it really brightened my mood. A special mention goes to the ”eco-policy.” There is no toothbrush, no slippers, and not even a complimentary bottle of water in the room. You can buy all of these on the ground floor. Formally, it's about environmental care. Practically, it feels like a test of endurance. Pro tip: stop by the supermarket in the mall before you check in to save your nerves. What came as a pleasant surprise was the swimming pool. Located on the 9th floor, it's open-air, has clean water, and lifeguards are on duty. After a muggy day in the city, it's an absolute lifesaver. The rooftop view of Hung Hom from above is surprisingly atmospheric. The verdict. This isn't a romantic getaway, nor is it a place that will roll out the red carpet for you. It's a reliable workhorse of a hotel: it'll get you to your concert, let you get some sleep (if you're lucky with the neighbors and the AC), and feed you breakfast. For the price, it's a fair deal. But if you're expecting flawless service and pristine modern furnishings, you're better off paying extra and looking elsewhere. I'd stay here again—but only if I'm going to another concert."

"The hotel facilities are clean and new. I stayed in a personal double room suite, which provided a comfortable working environment for my business trip. The 24-hour front desk service and convenient printing service were great. They also offer free umbrella rentals at the entrance for a HKD 100 deposit, which is fully refundable upon return. This is very convenient for travelers unfamiliar with Hong Kong's weather who encounter sudden downpours. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm near Kwun Tong Station."

"This was my first time staying at this hotel. Overall, I personally think it's okay. There are pros and cons. The good points are that the room is generally quite spacious. The view is also open. The mattress is comfortable, and the sheets are dry. The desk is wide. The slippers are soft. The shower pressure is strong. The walk-in shower is also spacious. The downside is that as soon as I entered the room, I smelled a strong musty odor. A damp, musty smell. I stayed for two nights, and the damp, musty smell was still there. At the same time, the room didn't feel particularly humid, but there was a pervasive damp, musty feeling. This was the worst part. Maybe I was just unlucky. Overall, I think it's an okay place to stay. The breakfast offered at the restaurant on the first floor is quite ordinary. However, it's enough to fill you up. There aren't many choices. I think it's acceptable. If it's too expensive, don't buy the breakfast. If it's cheap, then go for it."
