Amazing

Before the pandemic, I used to write hotel reviews quite regularly. However, in recent years, most hotels I have stayed at have generally met my expectations in terms of service and hospitality, so I rarely felt compelled to write one. Modena by Fraser Bangkok, however, left me with no choice but to pick up my pen again. It was not because of grand luxury, but because of the warmth, sincerity, and thoughtful gestures that truly made me feel at home throughout my stay. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine smiles and warm greetings at the lobby. Check-in was smooth, efficient, and hassle-free, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. I booked a Deluxe King Room, and it certainly did not disappoint. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and equipped with everything I needed. The amenities were excellent, but the highlight was undoubtedly the bed—it was incredibly comfortable and provided a great night's sleep after long days exploring Bangkok. The hotel's facilities were another highlight. Both the fitness centre and laundrette operate 24 hours a day, which is extremely convenient for travellers. The laundrette has three washing machines and three dryers. Washing costs THB 150 and drying costs THB 120. The washing machine automatically weighs your laundry, so the duration depends on the load. My four days' worth of clothes took about an hour to wash, while drying required the standard one hour. As someone who enjoys working out while travelling, I made full use of the gym every day. It exceeded my expectations, offering free weights, a Smith machine, resistance machines targeting different muscle groups, treadmills, and stationary bikes. It had everything I needed to stay active and maintain my fitness routine during the trip. Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. The selection was excellent, with many of the hot dishes and pastries changing daily, making each morning feel fresh and enjoyable. The location is also a major advantage. The hotel is located right next to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) MRT station and is only one stop from Sukhumvit Station, where Terminal 21 is located. It is also just two MRT stops from the Makkasan/Phetchaburi interchange for the Airport Rail Link, making travel to and from the airport very convenient. A 7-Eleven next to the hotel is another welcome bonus. Before I conclude, I would like to share one small incident that perfectly reflects the hotel's exceptional hospitality. On the second day of my stay, the light bulb at the room entrance stopped working. To me, this was simply normal wear and tear. I informed the front desk before heading out, and by the time I returned, the light bulb had already been replaced. The following day, after returning from my outing, I found a small towel elephant placed on my work desk, together with some snacks and a handwritten apology card from the hotel regarding the light bulb incident. I was genuinely touched. It was such a small gesture, yet it spoke volumes about how much the team cared about their guests. Throughout my travels, very few hotels have gone the extra mile in such a thoughtful and heartfelt way. Thank you, Modena by Fraser Bangkok, for making me feel genuinely valued and welcomed. Lastly, I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the housekeeping team. Every day, I returned to a spotless, tidy, and welcoming room. It truly felt like coming home after a long day of sightseeing. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Modena by Fraser Bangkok to anyone planning a trip to Bangkok. With its excellent service, comfortable accommodation, well-equipped facilities, convenient location, and above all, a team that genuinely cares about its guests, this is a hotel I will gladly return to on my next visit.

I was pleasantly surprised to find two cute elephants on the bed after upgrading to a king-size room. However, when I pulled back the sheets, I discovered three strands of hair that weren't mine. I went to the front desk to report the issue and asked for a change of sheets. A local male staff member flicked the three hairs onto the floor and told me that the sheets were clean and new, implying they were fine to sleep on. It seemed like he had no intention of changing them. So, I insisted on completely new ones. He then quickly brought a new set of sheets and duvet covers and changed them in about a minute. I gave him 20 baht as a tip for his trouble. Later, the front desk called to apologize and said they'd send a drink voucher, but it never arrived. The mini-fridge was a bit old and run-down, and it was quite disgusting inside, like a junk fridge no one would even buy for 50 baht as scrap. When I checked out, I had basically left everything 80% as I found it, as I hadn't used any of the other amenities.

I initially booked my stay for a few days only, but decided to extend for another week. The staff were very nice and allowed me to stay in the same room throughout my time in Bangkok. Now this is really a plus point as some hotels will require you ”check out”, then check in later again which can be a major inconvience. The gym was surpringsly well equipped compared to some higher end hotels (another plus point). They also have self service laundry right beside the gym, or you can opt for the laundromat service right next door to the hotel's lobby (another plus point). Breakfast selection was decent, they do offer a variation throughout the week. Optionally there are also a few coffee joints and 7-11 within the premises. Transport wise, I found out that the back gate of the hotel leads to the pier which you can take the river/canal taxi! That is an absolute winner if the traffic gets really bad. Only 10-12minutes to Central Embassy and the usual downtown areas. Just use google maps to get you along.

The neighborhood is awful, smells like fish. I think even the taxi driver was scared when he arrived. This was my first time in a hostel. The bedding was clean, the air inside was fresh, and the staff were polite. I asked for an early check-in, and they accommodated me without extra charge because I really needed to sleep. It was comfortable to sleep, and there were no drunkards or unruly people, just young and decent guests. A bed for one night cost 500 rubles, which is perfect just for sleeping.

The rooms are located in the Huai Khwang area, close to Huai Khwang MRT station. There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. This hotel is very grand and luxurious, and the staff are warm and polite. It's my first choice every time I come to Bangkok for a business trip.

The hotel's location next to an amusement park makes it a great choice for families with children. There's a shuttle bus and boat service every hour that goes to Silom for free, and you can get to Asok Station with a transfer for 12-14 baht. The breakfast was average compared to other hotels of a similar standard, and it was decent enough. While the overall facilities are very old and dated, I'd still recommend this place if you're looking for a room with a bathtub, spacious accommodations, a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River, and good value for money. However, the most important thing is that the service attitude of those who help with check-in and check-out at the hotel is only one star. They smiled brightly and seemed friendly, but I'm not sure if they were good at their job. As someone sensitive to noise, I requested a quiet room when booking. Instead, I was assigned to a floor undergoing renovation. As soon as the elevator doors opened, I saw a giant curtain, and it felt like I was stuck on a construction site. The most annoying part was that when I lay down in the room to rest, I couldn't relax properly due to the constant thumping noises from the renovation. I came here to relax comfortably, but I wondered why I was at a place that felt like a construction site. It was completely different from what I expected from a 4-star or 5-star level of service. However, I want to express my gratitude to the staff working at the concierge. My tour was almost canceled due to a sudden downpour, and it wouldn't have been refundable. Thanks to the help of the concierge staff, my tour went ahead as planned. I had a great time because of them, and I gave them 10 dollars as a thank-you. That's how a hotelier should work. I sincerely appreciate it.

1. I stayed for one night because I was attending a concert at Idea Live, which is near the hotel. I was really grateful that the front desk allowed me to check in before 11 AM that day. 2. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside was that the showerhead was quite old and didn't work very well; the water pressure was too strong, but the spray area was very small. 3. Getting to the hotel from BKK (Suvarnabhumi Airport) involved taking the Airport Rail Link for a few stops and then walking for about 15 minutes. However, that walk isn't the easiest, so it might be challenging if you have large luggage.

I stayed at Kingston Suites between May 15 and May 18, 2026. Arriving early morning on the 15th, they permitted an early check-in at a cost of 1000 baht extra for which i was grateful after travelling for 30 hours. The executive suite room was large, clean and included basic furniture, a microwave, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. The breakfast was a mix of Western and Indian dishes. I thought it was just okay as the main entrees were kind of bland and the selection was limited. Most of the staff were courteous. The location was quite good, only a 10-12 minute walk to Terminal 21 and a couple of BTS stations. I would likely stay again though there are numerous alternatives at a similar price point so it would likely boil down to who offers the best deal.

With all the discounts you can get from Trip, the cheap price for booking a room in this hotel is really expected; you are staying in what you paid for. The rooms are satisfactory. If you spend most of the time out the entire day, it already genuinely fulfils your needs for sleeping and showering. Let's go through negatives first. While they clean rooms everyday, there are still cobwebs in the corners of the room and permanent stains on some walls and tiles. The worst experience was when we decided to use the electric kettle to boil water in but there was some stains inside that had already crusted since who knows when. When we wanted to use the microwave as an alternative, there was mold all over the inside. We wouldn't have known of this if ever we didn't opt using either one. It is also pretty shabby and old, and not that well-maintained. We stayed in four room types total and three beds were creaking at each slight movement, as if it were one movement away from breaking. True enough, one of the beds broke when one of us sat down. Also, in one room, there was some sort of leak seeping from the tiles and we don't know where it's coming from. For those who have sensitive skin like me, their beds kinda made me itchy but tolerable. However, those with dust allergies or rhinitis like me, be warned because some of the rooms got my nose to get stuffy. Also, the ground hall wherein the elevator is located smelled like **** so it was difficult for us who didn't smoke or like the smell of it to tolerate each time we entered the ground hall. Despite all these issues, they really make it a point to clean bare minimum so I'll give them points for that. I think this hotel is a better option for solo or pair travelers. For the good points, let's start with it being in an AMAZING location! Just 10-15 mins walk away from Silom MRT and 5 mins walk away from Chong Nonsi BTS, making it very accessible. Many places to buy food and drinks from around the area, too. And the most important thing to point out is the kindness of their staff. Honestly, there was a glitch in their system wherein I was booked the wrong room type. I was worried about the language barrier with this issue, but with a little negotiation and patience, the caretaker and I were able to settle on an alternative. Luckily, they still had rooms available, so I was able to get three different rooms before moving into the 3BR suite two days later. The staff owned up to the mistake and were thankful that we were able to settle on something. The entire time, they were so accommodating, and because of the mishap of our booking, they were extra friendly with us. I think the entire first three days (until we moved to the new room), the caretaker kept apologizing for the mishap. The staff were really great. They always greeted and engaged in a friendly conversation whenever possible. Remember the broken bed? They fixed it immediately! So I truly appreciated it. Also after check out, they allowed us to use our room for some more minutes past check-out time to use the bathroom when one of my company needed to use it again before leaving. Overall, the stay was satisfactory. Really, if you just needed a place to sleep and shower, this is good enough. Location is really the best feature of this place. Go for it for easy access to MRT, BTS, Convent Rd, and Silom. Would really recommend if you're not too picky with interior or amenities. My recommendation to the hotel, though, is making sure all the equipments in the rooms are clean like the microwave, cabinets, or even the shower drain. Also please check and maintain all the furnishing so that bandaid solutions won't be done too often. Thank you so much for the stay and I really appreciate your service during my entire stay! 🙏🏻
