"The breakfast is very good, a typical English breakfast, but not a buffet, but a la carte service (there are several options for you to choose, such as coffee or black tea? Scrambled eggs or quiche? etc.). I live in a single room on the third floor. The room is relatively small and cannot accommodate an extra bed. The room is just big enough for one person, with a small bathroom attached. The landlord has strict requirements on the check-in time. If you arrive late, it is best to inform the landlord of the exact time of your arrival in advance, and the landlord will tell you the password to get the key, otherwise there is a risk of not getting the key. The hotel is located in the south of Edinburgh, far away from the city center, about 20 minutes to half an hour walk, but there are buses. It is better if you live alone."

"It is about a 15-minute bus ride from the city center, so it may be inconvenient if you want to leave your luggage and go sightseeing. There are multiple bus routes, so waiting times were not particularly inconvenient. The hotel does not have a reception, and there is only one management staff member during the day, and after you are given your key at check-in, you are free to do as you please. I thought the hotel was suitable for a trip where you just want to stay. The room was old, but the fabric was clean and the bed was not too soft, but comfortable to sleep on. The shower door was not fitted to the correct size, so the shower water leaked into the toilet. We had to think about how to turn the shower so that it would not leak. The surrounding area is a high-class, quiet residential area, and if you take a walk in the spring flowers bloom, you can enjoy the gardens of each house."

"I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget. The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi. The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city. Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations."

"We had a delightful stay at Pillars House in Edinburgh. Host Craig was exceptionally friendly, proactively offering helpful information. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient for exploring the city. Guests have access to a spacious kitchen, which was a great bonus. During our Christmas stay, we were pleasantly surprised with a gift from the hotel, adding a special touch to our holiday."

Was told to knock for any query or request which means leaving our room down the stairs go outside to the next door.  When asked for a number to call, was told no number but when I called the number on the website, someone answered who was next door at the reception. Overall ok"

"Homestay. A simple breakfast is provided. The room size is small, but the price of Edinburgh is relatively high. There are only a few parking spaces and need to be adjusted. It's not too far from the commercial center of the city. On the first day, we can walk and see the whole journey. There is also a direct bus to the city at the door, which is very convenient."
