"We had a wonderful stay at Alila Yangshuo (formerly known as Yangshuo Sugar House Hotel). It is a very nice hotel with beautiful surroundings and a unique atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and always helpful throughout our stay. The location was great — convenient yet still scenic and relaxing. The food was also excellent, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcome drink and the tea break arrangement in the room. The hotel offers many complimentary and chargeable activities, which gave us plenty of things to enjoy during our stay. We were especially impressed by the photographer — very professional and did a great job capturing memorable moments for us. A special mention to the hotel team for being very considerate with checkout arrangements. They automatically offered us a late checkout to better match our train schedule, which made our departure much more comfortable and stress-free. Two areas for improvement: the coffee with milk didn’t seem to be heated properly (we experienced a similar issue at other hotels too, so it may be related to the type of coffee machines commonly used here). Also, the hotel is next to a busy road — while the room’s sound insulation is fairly good, traffic noise could still be disturbing for light sleepers like my wife. Overall, it was still a great experience, and we would gladly return."

"This hotel is excellent! The greenery is lovely, the service is great, and the rooms are very clean. They even offer a special travel photography service, which includes outfits and photo editing – the pictures turned out really beautiful. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offer fantastic views. The hotel also rents out electric scooters, making it super convenient to get around for meals and sightseeing. The location is also perfect, right next to the 'Romantic Show' and the Ten-Mile Gallery, and there's a pier nearby where you can take a bamboo raft. It was a wonderful hotel experience!"

Hotel is just perfect, recently renovated, clean, spacious rooms with amazing views, tasty traditional breakfast (they also offer coffee) and also equipped with several amenities (gym, infinite pool, etc) Alex the owner is very attentive, he gave me tips on what to do on the area and always responded very fast to my questions! "This stay was a perfect experience! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the zero-pressure mattress allowed me to sleep until dawn. When I opened the curtains in the morning, the air was fresh and I could see the mountain view. The front desk staff was warm and considerate, and they took the initiative to help plan the tour route. Location: Very close to the Li River, and the Nine Horse Painting Mountain is nearby. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, which serves local specialties and tastes great. I will stay here again next time!"

There are some complimentary activities, like practicing Baduanjin (Eight-Duan Brocade) with a teacher in the morning, and a 20-minute couple's Five-Element tea therapy session. The facilities, cleanliness, and environment are all excellent. In the evening, the Yao ethnic medicinal liquid packets (for herbal baths) are great for both foot soaks and full baths. The scenery here is beautiful, and the lotus pond is particularly lovely. Staying at this guesthouse truly relaxes both body and mind."

"The room was great and I really enjoyed my stay! 👍👍👍 It had a bathtub, and the room featured floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was top-notch, though the floor tiles seemed to get dirty easily. The view was incredibly open, and the orientation was perfect. The owners were very warm and welcoming. Their family restaurant served amazing stir-fries – honestly the best two meals I had during my entire trip in Guilin and Yangshuo! A special shout-out to the sour bamboo shoot stir-fried beef, it was absolutely delicious. Wishing them continued success with their business!"

"I really struck gold with this hotel! It truly feels like a grand mansion, and I guess it belongs to a very wealthy owner, haha. The decor is incredibly stylish and distinctly Chinese. The front hall is entirely furnished with rosewood, and there are bottles of Maotai and XO liquor everywhere. Even the clock in the front hall is quite extraordinary. I asked the proprietress, and she said the entire renovation cost nearly eight million! It's absolutely amazing. The environment is superb; I felt like every photo taken there turned out beautifully. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and there are balconies on all sides, offering stunning views of the picturesque mountains outside the window. It's truly incredible! Just be prepared for roosters crowing before dawn. Haha. Highly recommended! The rice noodles made by the auntie for breakfast were also delicious, and the sour bamboo shoots were even homemade by the proprietress."

BBraden MI had such a wonderful time staying at Leisure Inn. Our stay started with the news that our room had been upgraded, and that once we had settled in they would prepare a complimentary afternoon tea for us which was great. We enjoyed room service from their in house restaurant, lovely buffet breakfasts during our stay. The room was clean with great facilities and a spectacular view. Throughout the stay, Reina and Lynn along with the rest of the staff took great care of us, offering transfers to and from West Street free of charge and whenever we wanted. I had some difficulties with my esim and they were very accommodating in providing me advice and support at a later hour to help me solve the problem. I had a very early train to catch in Guilin; they happily arranged a very luxurious transfer from our room directly to the station. We didn't have to worry about a thing! And if that is not enough, finally, they discovered that we had left behind some earrings in our room after we had left. The fantastic staff arranged topmost this to one of our accommodations later in the trip. This was a very relaxing, luxurious stay that I would not hesitate to recommend.

RRupesh DongHeart Like courtyard is located at extremely beautiful scenic area. The view from the room is even more spectacular and relaxing. We felt very comfortable. The hotel receptionist were very kind and helpful. They also had delicious breakfast. We had one of the most pleasant experiences here. Hotel is close to the river and the ancient town. If anyone fond of bamboo rafting it’s at walking distance. There are horse riding activities near to stay. Xianggong Mountain View point is visible from room. There is a shortest way from the hotel to Xianggong mountain which we didn’t try because of other sight seeing areas on the way by taxi. If future guests likes to explore can try going Lengshui ferry point close to hotel, take the ferry to Lengshui village at the opposite side. From there can go to Xianggong mountain by taxi uphill to Xianggong viewpoint ticket office. You can have beautiful cafes nearby from office area.

MMantuzhiChecked in on the seventh day of the Chinese New Year. The price was around 400, which was great value for money. As soon as we entered the courtyard, there was an adorable alpaca, and my child was thrilled. The room and environment were both very nice, and the location was excellent. It's right off the main street with plenty of food options. You can rent an electric scooter at the entrance, and if you ride towards the back gate, you'll reach the Yulong River with beautiful scenery. A pleasant stay overall.

GGuest UserFirst off, the butler was incredibly welcoming! They upgraded our room, sent us the location, and even let us pre-order from the menu. Plus, free parking was a huge bonus, making it super convenient for self-drivers. The location is great too – within walking distance to the pier and that popular '20 yuan' photo spot. As we were leaving, they even gave us two lo han guo – haha!

GGuest UserI originally only booked one night, but it totally exceeded my expectations. The value for money was great, so I booked another night to really soak it all in. This time, I also had a meal at Gege Tree and made friends with other guests, and we even arranged to have dinner together! Otherwise, eating alone when you want to try so many dishes can be a bit awkward. The chicken soup was absolutely delicious! And the stuffed snails were the best I've had in Guilin! The owner is from Sichuan, and the dishes wonderfully blend Guilin characteristics. It's really excellent!!

GGuest UserAfter browsing dozens of guesthouses on the platform, we finally settled on ShanShui BieYuan Guesthouse. I read a lot of reviews before making a decision, and while there were good and bad ones, I can confirm it's truly worth it! Our family trip found this place to be excellent value for money. There's so much for kids to do: they can try 'Touhu' (pitch-pot game), make lacquer fans – my child was so proud of their handmade fan! The calligraphy experience, writing blessings, was also a nice touch. They also offer Hanfu, Qipao, and Guangxi Zhuang ethnic costume experiences. The room size was just right for us, feeling very cozy and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean, every corner was immaculate, and the attention to detail truly showed they care for their guests. From the front desk manager to the auntie who cooks breakfast, everyone was incredibly warm and friendly, always greeting us and asking how we were. The courtyard is super photogenic, and there's a small boat you can paddle. You can spend a whole day just feeding and catching fish in the courtyard. We relaxed on the tea table on the second floor, letting the kids play freely – it was so relaxing! Just sipping tea and reading a book made for a perfect holiday. The day we checked in, there was even a teacher hired to teach many foreigners traditional Chinese crafts, which was very cool and authentic. Both older guests like us and the foreigners really enjoyed the traditional Chinese style. The hotel has a very large parking lot, complete with charging stations. Next to the parking lot is a lawn where you can play, swing on a swing, or even camp. It's super convenient for sightseeing: a 15-minute drive to Qian Gu Qing Scenic Area and the Liu Sanjie performance theater, and only 20 minutes to Ruyi Peak Scenic Area and Silver Rock Cave. Didi (ride-hailing) cars are readily available and pick you up right at the entrance. The hotel is also just 170 meters from the Qing'e Ferry Pier rafting point. Electric bikes are available for rent at the hotel entrance – 30 yuan a day in low season, 50 yuan for half a day in high season. Renting one lets you cycle to the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River Scenic Area in just 5 minutes. The Guilin rice noodles for breakfast were delicious and chewy, very clean and hygienic – I had two bowls! They also had dumplings, congee, corn, sweet potatoes, soy milk, steamed buns, and some pickled vegetables. I was incredibly satisfied and full! We'll definitely come back next time; my child had such a memorable time they didn't want to leave. GGuest UserThe guesthouse is right across from the Li River, allowing you to go down to the riverbank. The rooms are nicely furnished, and there's a screen separating the rooms. With the curtains drawn, the privacy is excellent. My son and I stayed on the outer side, and my daughter on the inner side—perfect! The owner was very welcoming and even helped me book tickets to Ruyi Peak with a significant discount. There are restaurants downstairs, and plenty of food options nearby. It's also very close to West Street.

GGuest UserPros: 1. The hotel boasts an excellent location, although it's quite a distance from the city center. If your plan includes visiting Yangshuo West Street, it's a considerable journey from here, so you might consider dedicating a separate day to each area. However, for exploring the Li River scenic attractions, this hotel's location is ideal and highly recommended. 2. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the bamboo raft boarding point for the iconic 20-yuan banknote scenery. The hotel also has EV charging stations right outside, which is very convenient for electric car owners. 3. Electric scooters are available for rent just across the street, making it easy to visit nearby ancient towns. Fruits there are incredibly cheap, and the ancient town experience is fantastic. 4. The staff provide very warm and welcoming service. Guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool on the ground floor. We noticed that staff proactively turned on the lights as soon as it got dark. 5. There's a great photo-op spot on the rooftop. Cons: 1. We stayed in a family room with one large bed and one small bed, arranged in a rectangular layout. The TV was awkwardly placed between the foot of both beds, making it practically impossible for anyone to watch comfortably. 2. The wardrobe next to the small bed was not secured, posing a safety hazard. When our child opened the empty wardrobe, it nearly toppled over. Thankfully, my husband reacted quickly and managed to stop it, preventing a potential accident. 3. The food at the hotel restaurant didn't quite live up to the positive reviews. The beer fish was mediocre, and the bamboo rice was notably hard. Overall, we weren't very satisfied with the dishes we tried.

Yesterday, the clear sky offered stunning views of the karst mountains and sunset, and today, the light rain transformed the landscape into a misty wonderland – both experiences were incredibly worthwhile. The room was clean, very quiet at night, and the morning air was fresh. Opening the curtains felt like looking at a painting. The service was down-to-earth and made me feel right at home. The courtyard is large and beautiful, and it's only a 7-minute drive to West Street and Ten-Mile Gallery. A genuine experience, highly recommended!
