"Superb! We always look for a 'home away from home' feeling when we travel, and this place absolutely delivered. They even had a Dyson hairdryer, 'Heart to Heart' brand tissues, a smart toilet, and a washing machine with a dryer function. Plus, they even provided alcohol wipes! One important detail, especially for women who do their makeup: hotel mirrors are often far from outlets. But this hotel thoughtfully provided a plug-in vanity mirror. The owner is also a handsome and warm-hearted guy. When we were about to go out, he reminded us to bring an umbrella because of the strong UV rays. The only minor drawback is that the hotel didn't have conditioner. For girls with long hair, it's a good thing I habitually carry my own. There's a large floor-to-ceiling window. I think it would be great to add some hooks there for hanging clothes to sun-dry (even if it might slightly affect the aesthetics). But Chinese people really like sun-dried clothes, especially since there's plenty of sun. The owner was incredibly responsive! I mentioned the next room was a bit noisy, and he immediately came down to check. Thumbs up for that! 👍"

"Pretty hotel in pretty old ancient buildings. Lots of high curbs in the hotel. The staffs were very helpful with our luggage. Every corner of the hotel looks pretty and photogenic. The welcome tea is nice! The hotel lobby with wooden high ceiling is so impressive and pretty. The tea rooms that we can choose to have our breakfast are pretty and aircon cooling too. The hotel room looks so much better than the pictures in their booking site. High ceiling, warm note and comes with a comfortable soothing wooden smell. The bathroom comes with ancient look door with wooden planks and in btw can be look through, but overall looks new and clean. Amazed by the bidet toilet in the ancient wooden setting. Its a good mix of modern and ancient in the most appropriate way. We almost didn't feel like leaving the hotel. Bathtub outside looks so pretty as well, especially on rainy days and early mornings, but we were worried about the mosquitos. The hotel is 1 minute away from the main shopping/touristy street, and you can get all the teas and gifts from there. Note that the hotel is located far from the main road. Nearest road side for dropoff and boarding is at the Starbucks, which sometimes seems far when you are tired and seems near when you leave the hotel for the day. About 8 mins walk away i think. There are little shops along the way as well. And the street looks super cool at night with all the lanterns along the way. As mentioned earlier, the hotel staffs gladly helped you with your luggage to the boarding point. Overall great experience! Love it!"

The grand entrance features a pair of white elephant sculptures, stately and imposing. The entire glass-curtained building directly faces the West Lake. Upon entering, the lobby displays a calligraphy plaque reading 'First Building of Lake and Mountain Scenery,' creating a strong Chinese traditional atmosphere. The location is its biggest advantage. Stepping out, you're immediately on the West Lake walking path, perfect for an evening stroll or a morning jog. It's only a ten-minute drive from Sanfang Qixiang, making sightseeing very convenient. It's a peaceful oasis in a bustling area, without the noise typically found in city hotels. II. Guest Room: New Chinese Luxury, Spacious with Top-Notch Amenities The guest rooms feature a modernized New Chinese style, with dark wood finishes paired with ink-wash orchid paintings, creating a calm and elegant color scheme. The room is very spacious, avoiding any cramped feeling. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the city's buildings, and you can even catch the sunset in the evening. The bedding is soft and thick, complemented by two sets of pillows, ensuring a great night's sleep. A curved leisure sofa is tucked in the corner, and the desk is large, perfectly adequate for business travelers. The minibar thoughtfully includes seasonal fruits. The independent bathroom is fully tiled with marble and features both a bathtub and a separate shower, ensuring clear wet and dry zones. The mirrored vanity cabinet provides ample storage, the bathroom lighting is soft, and the toiletries are comprehensive. There are no flaws to be found in the hardware configuration. III. Value-Added Features: Humanized Service Beyond Competitors at the Same Price Point 1. Smart Robot Delivery Service There's a guide card on the guest room desk for robot delivery. Food delivery, packages, drinking water, and toiletries can all be called to your room directly via a QR code, eliminating the need to go downstairs to pick them up. Compared to the Shangri-La, where deliveries could only be left in a locker outside, this convenience is a huge difference and extremely friendly for business travelers or guests with luggage. 2. Exclusive Lakeside Running Amenities The hotel offers custom-made running shoes printed with a map of West Lake attractions, available for free rental or purchase. Given its proximity to the lakeside boardwalk, the hotel specifically caters to active guests with running shoes and related services. This unique feature is greatly appreciated by running enthusiasts. IV. Dining Experience The buffet dinner offers a rich variety, with clear sections for hot pot, seafood, local specialties, desserts, and fresh fruits. The ingredients are fresh, and replenishment is prompt. There's a diverse selection of fruits and drinks, and the hot dishes cater to both local and general tastes. The dining area is quiet and clean, and staff proactively clear plates and refill water. The overall quality is consistent. Breakfast offers a comprehensive spread, including local Fuzhou snacks like fish balls and peanut soup, as well as Western pastries, freshly ground coffee, and a whole grain station. Compared to the ordinary breakfast at the Shangri-La, the variety and sophistication here are a cut above. V. Overall Summary Advantages 1. Excellent location, right by West Lake, quiet environment, and superb views. 2. Spacious rooms with a stylish New Chinese decor, and comprehensive bathroom amenities. 3. Humanized special features like smart delivery robots and free running shoes, addressing essential travel needs. 4. High-quality dining, rich local specialties, meeting five-star hotel standards. 5. The well-trained staff of an established state guesthouse provide prompt service. Minor Drawbacks The hotel building is older, so some public area elevators are a bit slow. During peak hours, check-in might involve a short wait; it's recommended to avoid peak times. Overall, for the same budget, Fuzhou Lakeside Hotel's hardware, convenient services, and dining standards are far superior to other five-star hotels in the city. Highly recommended for both leisure and business travelers to Fuzhou."

"This two-hundred-year-old house is full of stories and character. Its location right by the river in Shangxiahang offers beautiful views and easy access to everything. The surrounding pedestrian street makes shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The courtyard is exquisitely decorated and very comfortable, and the rooms are clean and cozy. Breakfast is plentiful and features authentic Fuzhou flavors. The owner's tea is excellent; you can relax, chat, and enjoy the sun with a cup. Choosing this place for my Fuzhou trip was absolutely the right decision."
