Atami Beach Hotels

"Hotel Resorpia Atami was an unplanned booking on my trip. I got stranded at Atami Station due to Typhoon No. 11, so I ended up booking this hotel. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations: 1) The hotel is located by the sea and is a 10-15 minute walk from Atami Station. 2) All rooms face the ocean and there are Japanese-style tatami rooms, which felt very authentic. 3) The hotel has a large public bath (onsen) where you can enjoy a relaxing soak while watching the sunset or sunrise – it was incredibly romantic! I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"The view was really great, amenities and breakfast with a view was a plus point. The balcony was a little outdated but with the view, it was still acceptable. I have enjoyed my time here. Definitely will visit again."

"I suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can. The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se. The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa. We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen."

"I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the front desk staff, especially Dar. She is helpful, kind, and I am truly grateful for her proactive assistance. Additionally, all the facilities in the hotel are excellent. It’s rare to find an onsen inside a hotel room with endless sea views, which is incredibly relaxing. The breakfast and club lounge experience were also great!"

"An amazing place to stay with a location which is near lots of restaurants and even a grocery store. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also there are private hot springs on the top floor which are constantly available and free to use! Loved this hotel very much and it made the stay at Atami very magical and memorable. Thank you for the great time!"

"The location is excellent. The rooms are very clean, and although they are small, everything is well-equipped and there is nothing wasted. It is clean, and the open-air bath was also very pleasant. I would definitely like to use it again."

"At first, I was worried about the facial recognition system and the user experience at the self-service check-in after reading the reviews. Once we arrived, the location was easy to find and check-in was very simple. There was a sticker at the door with the booking person's name, the bed number, and a code. Just press the code to enter. It's less than 15 minutes from Atami Station, and the walk from the station to the hotel is downhill. There's a supermarket and convenience store in between. It's a short walk from Atami Nanayu and Kinomiya Shrine. The restrooms and bathrooms were clean, with separate bathrooms for men and women. The beds were large, and the value for money was very good."

"The next day of the Atami trip with my daughter, I returned to the harbor from the outlying islands. The room booked has an open-air hot spring. The room is very beautiful, Western-style double bed, Japanese-style dining table with exquisite pastries. The balcony has an open-air hot spring bath, which is very Japanese classic. It was almost dusk when I arrived at the hotel. The uncle greeted at the door was very enthusiastic to help with the luggage. The reception aunt was also very enthusiastic to talk about everything and amiable. Dinner is very grand Japanese-style set food, fresh and delicious ingredients! Breakfast is also Japanese-style, nutritious, delicious, and beautiful ice cream 🍧 sweet food, very delicious. Although there is an open-air hot spring in the room, the reception aunt still introduced the open-air windy hot spring bar on the top floor. On the hot summer night, there is a hot spring in the open air. It is very relaxing and the tiredness of a day's journey! The next day, the hotel uncle's car was sent to the ”Izu Saga” station. A high-quality rest place during the trip, will come again next time ✌️"

"The shop is halfway up the mountain, ancient and mysterious. If you are for sentiment, you can try the century-old house, which feels like going back to your grandma's house, but there are many rules. For example, there is a curfew at 9:00. I experienced the feeling of being soaked and unable to go home. It is ancient but clean, and the outdoor hot spring is very warm. If you want to be comfortable, forget it, a bed occupies a room. There must be a problem with communication. I added Chinese WeChat, but no one responded to me. The language is impossible to communicate with the new cleaner. Foreigners are discouraged."
