"The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite a large supermarket, making shopping incredibly convenient. It's well-equipped, safe, and clean. This is the best value-for-money hostel I've stayed at in Australia."

"When booking, I was a little skeptical because the price was cheap, but I didn't expect it to be really good. It is worth mentioning that the front desk is not 24 hours, but they are very attentive to prepare Self-checkin for visitors who check in at midnight, and send emails to guide how to operate. Staying for two days can be considered very comfortable. The location is excellent, and it is close to the sea in the center of the city. You can walk along the beach at night. It is a great place to travel alone."

"Okay here’s my review. The Espy has so much going for it in terms of being central to the entertainment precinct of Cairns Esplanade.  Check in was easy and friendly and the two bunk dorm had its own dedicated ensuite bathroom which was very clean and quite large. The bedroom was clean and the bunks were enclosed wood and steel construction with zero squeaking. Clean towel and linen provided. So that’s all the very good stuff. The not as good things I observed were: - the lounge/common areas were dimly lit, very tired (bordering on festy) furniture and not somewhere I’d socialise due to limited seating, very few power/USB outlets or clean comfortable seating. - The pool…. Or should I call it the tropical punch bowl of various biological matter and other detritus… if you’re keen of growing something fungal on your body, go in…. I decided not to. -Kitchen and meal prep area all seemed clean and safe to get your mung bean and tofu ready for consumption.  - The personal under bunk locker was missing its latch and with two roommates I had to say a little prayer that my gear would be safe inside my enclosed bunk. Overall this was my maiden voyage as a backpacker and at 57 years of age, I’ve stayed in a lot of Hotels and Motels costing far more for way less cleanliness. I rate this place highly for all the good reasons above.  The not so good stuff is easily fixed by management but for $65 per night in peak season, I don’t think you can get any better value in Central Cairns right near the action. Pubs, cafes, night market and the City Lagoon. Thanks Espy crew, you made this old dog’s stay a pleasant one and will be back if and when the opportunity presents itself."

"This was my first solo trip to Cairns. It was also my first time staying in a hostel, and with my limited English, I arrived feeling quite anxious. However, everything from check-in to getting my room key could be done online, and since the online system supported Japanese, I had no issues at all. Any questions I had were quickly answered via chat, which was a huge relief. Being a hostel, I didn't have high expectations for cleanliness, but I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly clean and comfortable it was. Before check-in, I used a locker to store my luggage; it was past the front desk and cost around 800 yen. My room did have a locker, but it didn't have a lock, so remember to bring your own padlock. I was able to borrow a hairdryer from the front desk by leaving my passport as a deposit. For my first solo trip, my first time abroad alone, I was extremely satisfied with my stay at this hostel!"

"When the plane arrives at the hotel by TAXI, the fare is 26 knives. The hotel is located near Cairns central. After going left for 30 meters, there is an alley to the east. You can see through the alleys. The supermarkets are all available. The Cairns Railway Station is also here, and you can also take the train from other cities. Go east along Cairns central, then turn right to the pier and walk for about 15 minutes. It is full of bunk beds, suitable for backpackers and young people who are traveling poorly. The public bathroom is very clean and kitchen utensils are provided free of charge. There is a leisure area and swimming pool in the courtyard on the first floor. If English is good enough, you can make a lot of friends. The front desk, a man, a woman and two are very friendly, in short, an unforgettable trip!"

"Overall, this hostel deserves 4 out of 5 stars. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the central location and the pleasant atmosphere. The common areas were also modern and comfortably designed. My only minor criticisms would be the noise at night and the somewhat small bathrooms in some rooms. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable overall, and it offered good value for money."

"It was a very cozy hostel. The mixed share rooms have individual beds instead of bunk beds, so you don't have to disturb someone else's sleep, which is a big plus! The owner is a very calm and kind person, and he starts by giving us a thorough tour of the surrounding area and the hostel. There is a garden and a pool, and the kitchen is equipped with salt, pepper, and oil, and we could drink tea and coffee freely. It was also nice that we didn't have to buy a few condiments just to cook for ourselves for a few nights. The people staying there were friendly, and it's been a while since I've come across such a cozy hostel. I'd like to use it again when I visit Cairns! I really recommend it to everyone!"

"On the same day, I booked another accommodation for my friend, but after booking, the customer service said that there was no room. We booked somewhere else at six o'clock in the afternoon. The housing is relatively tight, so it is more expensive, the customer service applied to make up the difference. The attitude and response were very timely, and I responded in the middle of the night. Like Ctrip Hotel"

"The best hostel for backpackers! Everyone is so friendly, it doesn’t take long to be part of the family. You get free rice, pasta and oats. There are events throughout the weekend with free food. The overall vibe of the hostel is just lovely :) defo recommend!"
