"Our family of 4 stayed with Sister Su in late June. She welcomed us with oranges and tea service and helped us settle in with a mixture of English and we chat translation. Sister Su was friendly and helpful from start to finish of our stay. Her fairly priced Naxi style courtyard minsu was so charming from the courtyard with it's tables and swing chair to the excellent two story loft we stayed in. The all wooden house was secure, cozy, quiet, offered a lot of privacy between rooms, was airy in the daytime and warm at night, and really felt like home. We loved the loft as it gave us all some privacy as a group when we needed it. The separated toilet and very functional shower, divided by a sink, were excellent and allowed for multiple people to use the facilities at once. One thing we loved about this residence was it's close proximity to the Old City, without the complication of being IN the old city (where cars cannot enter). This allowed for easy access to taxis and tour vehicles. The residence also sits very near a series of delicious economical restaurants that offered all of the main Yunnan favorites. We would stay here again if we have the chance."

"The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located, but what made our stay unforgettable was the owner. He welcomed us with so much kindness and generosity that we immediately felt at home. Spending time with him over tea was one of the highlights of our entire trip to China. His knowledge of tea is incredible, but even more impressive is his willingness to share it. Through him, we discovered a genuine part of Chinese culture that we would never have experienced otherwise. His recommendations for exploring Yunnan and discovering authentic local food were absolutely priceless. Every suggestion turned out to be amazing and helped make our trip so much richer. Thank you for your wisdom, your kindness, and your passion. You gave us memories and experiences that we will carry with us for a very long time. We sincerely hope to come back one day."

"My single room came with a comfy double bed (electric blanket included), was clean and tidy, with good amenities provided. The inn is located close to the entrance of the ancient town, which gives you a lot of choice for options to dine and shop each day. There is a washing machine and a roof to dry any clothes. As a solo traveller who did the trek to Tiger Leaping Gorge, I really appreciated how the owner was kind enough to store my luggage for a night while I stayed overnight in Shangri-La. The owner speaks limited English but is incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality and friendly service!"

"Choosing Songzhuju was such a smart decision! The room was cozy and incredibly comfortable, and the courtyard environment was so healing. The proprietress is not only beautiful and kind, but also meticulous and reliable! She even helped us with our luggage and thoughtfully explained all the important tips for getting around and sightseeing. Staying here felt as comfortable and relaxed as being at home. I highly recommend Songzhuju for anyone visiting Lijiang – it's definitely the top choice for accommodation!"

"Other places just say 'the customer is king,' but you guys truly prove it with your actions! Even before we arrived, the front desk staff met us at the ancient city gate. We didn't have to lift a finger; they handled all our luggage and took it straight to our room. Talk about seamless service! As soon as we stepped in, a lovely staff member brought us tea and desserts – so thoughtful! The owner, 'Tieniu,' greeted us at the entrance with incredible warmth. He first explained the layout and then gave us a tour. The most impressive part? He had already turned on the air conditioning in our reserved room! Truly amazing. After resting in the room for a bit, a staff member brought us fruit and a handwritten card! The handwritten touch completely exceeded my expectations; it felt like catching up with a long-lost friend. And there was afternoon tea, breakfast, and even custom cocktails in the evening – all with choices for us. I honestly feel they genuinely demonstrate 'the customer is king' through their actions; they put so much heart into it. They're incredibly considerate, thinking of everything we might need before we even do. Seriously, no exaggeration needed!!!"

"I highly recommend Lijiang Ancient Town Banshan Lishe Inn! The inn is nestled on the hillside of Lion Mountain within the ancient town, offering a tranquil escape while still being conveniently located. It's a short walk to Sifang Street, making exploring the ancient town incredibly easy. The most touching aspect was the butler service. The uphill stone paths in the ancient town can be challenging, but the staff proactively helped carry our luggage up the mountain, providing thoughtful assistance throughout. The room was spotlessly clean, with impeccable hygiene, and well-equipped with all amenities, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay."

"We stayed here for two nights and then left our luggage to do the tiger leaping gorge trek and came back the next day. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures and it was very clean and comfortable. The view from the rooftop is awesome. We enjoyed sharing tea with the host who is really friendly. The location is perfect for exploring the old town and very easy to find. I do have to note that it’s an old building and so the sound travels very easily, we had no issue the first few nights because no one was staying above us but the last night we had someone above us and we could hear everything they were doing which made it really hard to sleep. Basically there is no soundproofing."

"The room was a bit small, but the view was unbeatable! The service was incredible! Super highly recommend. There were four of us traveling with a lot of luggage. As soon as we arrived, five strong men came and carried a suitcase each on their shoulders. Later, the owner's recommendations for bars and restaurants were all delicious, and they responded instantly to any questions we had – absolutely no duds. From the room, you could see a panoramic view of the ancient city, and on a clear day, you could even see the snow-capped mountains."

"Yunshu's location is fantastic – you can hail a taxi right outside, and it's close to the North Gate and Jiuding Longtan. True to its name, it feels like a secluded mountain retreat, offering a unique sense of tranquility. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and they provide every amenity you could possibly need. My dad even remarked that this was the only place we stayed that had a shoehorn! The wooden decor gives it a distinctive style. This particular suite even had two doors and a small balcony, and it was so relaxing to sit out on the veranda even when it was raining. I couldn't help but show it off to my friends, and they all agreed it looked great. Thank you, Yunshu, for making our Lijiang trip so delightful! See you next time!"

I blindly chose this guesthouse for my Lijiang trip, and it turned out to be a real treasure! The whole place has a fresh and elegant Naxi log courtyard vibe, with a two-story building featuring warm wooden structures and clean, crisp white walls. The antique carved window details are exquisite. Inside, there's a beautifully designed courtyard with stone pathways, scattered white pebbles, lush greenery, and blooming flowers adorning the second-floor balcony. Sitting in the courtyard, feeling the breeze, and slowly soaking in the relaxed atmosphere of the ancient town truly creates a wonderful ambiance. The guesthouse's public lounge area was an even bigger surprise! The spacious and bright lobby gets amazing natural light, furnished with wooden tables and chairs and a complete tea set, perfect for inviting friends over for tea and a chat. By the window, a榻榻米 (tatami) mat is adorned with soft, giant plushies, making for fantastic photo opportunities. The large panoramic windows offer expansive views of the ancient town's streets, while the unique wall murals showcase local charm. The overall decor is cozy and healing, ideal for unwinding or relaxing with conversation. The guesthouse is equipped with comprehensive fire safety facilities, and the attention to detail in management ensures a safe and comfortable stay. The overall design perfectly blends ancient charm with modern comfort, achieving full marks for cleanliness. The service is thoughtful and attentive. It's conveniently located away from the hustle and bustle but still easy to get around – a tranquil escape in a lively area. It's perfectly suited for both solo travelers and groups.
