"This hotel is less than a 15-minute walk from the West Gate entrance of Hongcun. They also offer a shuttle service to the scenic area's parking lot (from which it's another 5-minute walk into the area). It's quiet and quite convenient. Compared to staying inside the scenic area where you'd have to drag your luggage over many stone paths, staying outside is much more practical. The hotel itself has a very artistic and stylish design, with spacious and tasteful common areas. P1 shows the breakfast area on the third floor. Breakfast is served as set meals (some items can be refilled). We booked a large room with one 1.8m king bed and one 1.2m smaller bed (similar to a榻榻米 or Japanese-style floor mattress). The hotel service is also great, very welcoming and helpful (they offer pick-up and drop-off from the bus station, though the bus station is actually right at the entrance of Hongcun scenic area anyway)."

"The service far exceeded the price. The aunt and uncle were really nice. They picked us up at the door. When we left, the uncle took us to the bus station. There was also a big pig and a little dog. They were super cute and fun. I originally planned to stay for one day, but it was so comfortable that I stayed for four days instead of three nights. I love Hongcun so much. I will come here again when I have time for vacation. It is second only to Lijiang. I love the quiet atmosphere. The terrace is great for taking pictures. Watching the sunrise or sunset and the fish lantern parade is really great. It is very lively. Tears welled up in my eyes. Huangshan Hongcun, you will get better and better. 800 words can't express this praise."

"We felt incredibly fortunate to stay at Danyuan Boutique Inn. The host was very welcoming and took extra care with everything. We had great conversations, and even though we had to use translation apps, we felt like friends after just one day. His wife cooked a wonderful dinner and breakfast for us of local cuisine - it was a unique and authentic experience. This was our favourite place to stay throughout our extensive travel through China! I strongly recommend to everyone: Chinese and international travellers. Thank you!"

"Facilities: Well-equipped, the bedding was great, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. Hygiene: The room was tidy and clean, making us feel confident about the hygiene. Environment: The hotel is right by South Lake, a great location. We could rest whenever we got tired from exploring, then head out again for more food and sightseeing. Service: A special shout-out to the hotel staff member! His service was exceptional. He came to pick us up at the entrance of Hongcun Scenic Area with just one phone call and helped us with our luggage. The fish lantern performance at night passes by South Lake. I highly recommend staying at this hotel."

"The entire courtyard was charmingly decorated. The guesthouse was housed in a Qing Dynasty-style building. The rooms were wooden cabins, and the facilities were generally very complete, including a smart toilet. The rooms were duplexes, requiring climbing stairs. The bathroom was on the lower level, and the bed was on the upper level, which wasn't particularly convenient. However, it was a nice change from typical hotel rooms for families with children. The upper level had underfloor heating, so it wasn't cold at night. There was no TV in the room, and the Wi-Fi wasn't great. The owner was very welcoming. He called ahead to pick us up and even helped us with our luggage to the bus stop when we left. We were very satisfied with the service."

"Pig's Inn is a charming little hotel in a beautiful original building - the spaces are just incredible and endlessly photogenic. The village of Bishan itself is very quaint, still inhabited by locals but with a few cafés and bars, design stores and a wonderful bookshop. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel are fabulous - we had dinner here twice. We stayed here for two nights in January, as most of the spaces are open, the hotel was a little chilly, but we were very cosy in front of the fireplace in the living area. Very happy we chose to stay in the small village of Bishan rather than the beautiful, but more touristy villages of Xidi or Hongcun. There are bikes and it was easy to get a Didi to visit the surrounding villages."

"The property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!"

"I checked out this guesthouse on a friend's recommendation, who said it was close to Moon Pond and had an auspicious atmosphere. After experiencing it myself, I highly recommend it: First, it's very convenient to get in and out. The owner personally picked me up and helped with my luggage. If you're driving, it's best to enter and exit from the south gate. Second, the stay was comfortable and relaxing. The rooms were classically decorated and cozy, the service was meticulous and attentive, and the place was clean, tidy, and quiet – a perfect place to dream. Third, the owner's wife has three amazing culinary skills: her stinky mandarin fish is superb, her porridge is perfectly thick and creamy, and you can watch her make the steamed buns by hand – delicious and reassuring. A word of caution: if you want to dine at the guesthouse, you need to make a reservation in advance, as the owner has to drive to the county town at 5:30 am to buy supplies. Fourth, the owner provides freshly collected spring water for tea lovers. The owner is truly reliable and thoughtful. I originally planned to practice standing meditation and gather some energy by the Moon Pond early in the morning, but I slept in because of the rain. Next time, I'll try to stay here for a few more days, invite a few more friends, enjoy the scenery, taste tea, have a drink, and pursue my Chinese dream."

"The hotel is right in the center of the scenic area, and it is very convenient to go anywhere. The owner is very nice. It suddenly rained heavily when we left the hotel. The owner helped us deliver our luggage to the gate and carefully covered the tarpaulin. It is definitely a star service. He patiently answered and gave suggestions on various food, drink and entertainment questions we raised, which made our trip to Hongcun very happy and enjoyable. The hotel is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. The courtyard is also warm and romantic, and every flower and grass is beautiful. I will choose this place next time I come to Hongcun."

"The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the facilities are excellent. The food is delicious too! Most importantly, the staff are all incredibly nice, warm, and attentive. They helped us with our luggage, and even offered pick-up and drop-off services to and from the scenic area. A special shout-out to the beautiful lady manager – she was super enthusiastic and truly touched our hearts. Oh, and there's also a very cute little black dog! I really hope this wonderful guesthouse continues to thrive. We'll definitely be back next time we visit Hongcun!"
