"The hotel's location is excellent, and the room was very spacious. Although the bathroom was small, it had everything we needed. The breakfast service was particularly warm and friendly. The only downsides were that the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy and the duvet/blanket was a bit thin."

"I especially enjoy the coffee corner in the common zone. It is clean and comfortable with nice shampoo and conditioners provided. Overall experience is great except for the location as it’s a bit far from train station and it’s a bit inconvenient for us with large luggage. The heater of the shower sometimes work slowly. It’ll be cold for customers living in winter. It’s 9min walk to Mercato Centrale Firenze which u can try Il Bollito e lo Stracotto di Giacomo Trapani"

"I would give this hostel a perfect score if it weren't for its location. The living conditions are ideal; the beds are even more comfortable than those in a hotel. The only issue was that the air conditioning was too cold and couldn't be adjusted, making me feel a bit chilly at night. The staff were very helpful, and the lobby was clean and cozy. However, this hostel feels more like a hotel than a traditional hostel because there's no communal kitchen. You can use a card to operate the washing machine and dryer, though. There's a study area, and it seems you can even book yoga classes and other activities. If, like me, you prefer to stay closer to the city center, this might not be the perfect choice, as the nearby bus route 17 is often delayed or unreliable. But if you prioritize a comfortable living experience, I wholeheartedly recommend it."

"Location: It's okay, but a bit far from all the attractions, requiring a 15-20 minute walk or more to each. So, if you're not up for a lot of walking, you might want to reconsider. Facilities: For Italy, the room was quite decent. There was plenty of space to open two 28-inch suitcases flat. The shower, in typical Italian style, was small and narrow. The overall decor was very unique, and the air conditioning was excellent – it could get to a 'freezing' level. Cleanliness: I didn't find any major issues with cleanliness. Service: The breakfast was delicious. The à la carte hot food set, combined with the self-service cold items and bread, was a real highlight, despite the typical Italian saltiness."

"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel La Fortezza and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10–15 minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station. If you prefer public transportation, there is a bus stop just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, making it easy to reach all the major attractions. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of character. We especially appreciated having a room with a window, and everything was well maintained throughout our stay. One of the first things we noticed was the hotel’s pleasant signature fragrance, which created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, but we would especially like to thank Mr. Buli, who was working the night shift. We returned to the hotel late one evening after all the nearby restaurants had closed. When he learned that my son was hungry, he kindly prepared fresh sandwiches and yogurt for us from the hotel kitchen. His kindness and willingness to help went far beyond our expectations and made us feel truly cared for. Another thoughtful service was that the hotel offers complimentary travel adapters for guests, which was very convenient. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would happily stay at Hotel La Fortezza again on our next visit to Florence. "The room was spotless and the facilities were very new and well-equipped. Both the front desk staff and the doorman were incredibly welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, and the highlight was the authentic honeycomb offered as a sweetener, which paired perfectly with the freshly made pancakes. Absolutely delightful!"

"Short walk into town. Bit of a longer walk to the river. Tram stop right outside, which goes to the train station and airport! Lovely staff, we’re so kind and smiling! Free minibar was a bonus. Amazing rooms, and comfy bed! Lovely spa area! Lovely warm pool, just wish it was open longer! Thanks for a great stay!!"

"Clean hotel, great location Stayed for a week. Had a single room, small, but clean and efficient. On 2nd floor, backside of building, great view of orange roofs, the back steeple of San Marco church, the dome of the Duomo, and the tower at Piazza Signoria. Very quiet, there is a botanical garden across the street in back, so you can hear birds chirping. Went up to the top terrace a couple of times in the early evening, very nice, But would be too hot in daytime in the sun. Decor was “funky”: paintings looked straight out of a kindergarten classroom, and a chandelier made of plastic soda bottle parts- but fine! Bathroom looked as if it was renovated in the past year, very clean; great water pressure in shower. Air conditioner worked well. Staff were friendly and available 24/7 - great if you arrive after 10pm. Housekeeping came everyday, emptied wastebaskets, tidied the bedsheets and changed towels while I was out. I didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on it."

"This hotel's rooms are incredibly beautiful and clean! They provide a wide array of disposable amenities, including slippers and body lotion, which is quite rare for European hotels. Our room even had a small balcony with a lovely view of the pool downstairs and the surrounding trees. While breakfast wasn't entirely to my taste, the variety was impressive, even featuring honey with a honeycomb. The front desk offers complimentary luggage storage, which was very helpful. A thoughtful touch was the free long-handled umbrellas available for guests, especially since it happened to be raining during our stay. The only real downside is that, despite being close to Florence train station in a straight line, the walk from the station to the hotel is actually quite long. Plus, exiting the Florence station involves going down a set of stairs, which is very inconvenient with large luggage. This made the walk to the hotel feel even longer, especially with intersections where poor signal made maps unclear and it was easy to get lost. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this hotel. The internal environment is very well-maintained, and the front desk staff are patient and polite. If I have the chance to visit Florence again, I would definitely choose this hotel. The price is truly excellent value for money."
