"The location is fantastic, directly across from the Dali Ancient City Tourist Center. There's a large open space in front of the tourist center, making it very convenient for taxis and parking, though it can get a bit congested during peak hours. It's a super short walk, only about 100 meters, from the hotel to the south gate of Dali Ancient City. The hotel service is also excellent. The concierge staff (young women) are incredibly warm and attentive. Any questions I had were answered quickly via WeChat. I feel their service is comparable to Haidilao. You can see the specific services offered in the pictures; there are so many! For laundry and drying, you don't even have to do it yourself; just give your dirty clothes to the concierge, and they'll return them clean the next day. Every morning, breakfast not only includes a buffet selection but each person can also order a freshly prepared main dish. I think the Zajiang Ersi (noodles with fried sauce) is the best. Although Ersi is made from rice, its texture is quite unique – sticky, moist, not slippery, and a bit chewy. The fried mini sesame balls and fried date balls from the self-serve breakfast are delicious, and the sliced, juicy sausages are also very good. See the pictures for more details. The room is super spacious, the bed is huge, and the TV is a pop-up type hidden in a cabinet (Room 106). The afternoon tea is also incredibly exquisite, featuring flower cakes, preserved fruits, fresh fruit, cookies, and three different types of tea. I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Dali."

"This was the most comfortable stay I've had in Yunnan so far. The room was clean and bright, and the bedding was super comfy – I finally got a good night's sleep here! The butler service was incredibly attentive. Seeing I was traveling alone, they were very caring, providing detailed tips and advice on what to avoid. The recommended restaurants were all fantastic. Every day, they'd bring me breakfast, afternoon tea, and sweet soup, all delicious and beautifully presented. The courtyard is lovely with vibrant greenery. The two little Shiba Inus are adorable and happy to be petted. Especially Eleven, who is very lively and loves to charm guests. The location is excellent, very convenient for getting to the ancient city. You can park right at the entrance, and there's electric scooter rental available, making it easy to get around. I definitely made the right choice! Staying here, I could just lie in bed and enjoy the beautiful view of Cangshan Mountain. Even without leaving the property, I could relax, drink tea, enjoy the scenery, and quietly savor life! I truly love this place and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Dali!"

"This is a wonderful hotel which is just next to Er-Hai. We had booked the villa family room with 3 beds for our family trip, my siblings were wowed by the view that the hotel provided. The staff were helpful with our luggage - carried through the cobbled floor and up to the 2nd floor. Breakfast was excellent - mee sian soup or millet freshly cooked for us, with other small items like sweet potato, bao, corns etc. Served on a tray for each guest. Cons: maintenance noted to be lacking for headrest, shower doors' rubber etc."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, just a five-minute electric scooter ride from Shuanglang Ancient Town, making getting around super convenient. Situated right on the Erhai Lake, my room offered direct views of the beautiful lake, and I enjoyed stunning sunset views in the afternoon. The room itself was also great for photos, very Instagrammable! Upon arrival, staff helped with my luggage, and I was offered afternoon tea and fruit. They even provided recommendations for local food and tourist attractions, and there's a free electric scooter rental service. The front desk and management staff were incredibly friendly. The room facilities were complete, and the hygiene was excellent, everything was clean and tidy. The room featured floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing Erhai Lake, and plenty of disposable amenities were provided. The breakfast spread was extensive, including authentic Yunnan rice noodles, eggs, sweet potatoes, and many other options."

"Facilities: The room was great, and having a parking lot with charging stations was a huge plus. Cleanliness: It was also very clean, and the room was incredibly spacious. Environment: The sea view was absolutely stunning! Definitely book a higher floor if you can; you don't even need to walk to the beach. Just relaxing in the room was incredibly comfortable. "The Guyue Xianlai Hotel is probably the closest hotel to the entrance and exit within Ideal Bang Santorini. Santorini is huge and has many hotels. I chose this one because of its high ratings, and it definitely lived up to expectations. Outside vehicles aren't allowed past the main gate, so I notified the butler 10 minutes in advance for the shuttle to pick me up. The hotel is very welcoming, the room is spacious, and breakfast is a set menu with fruit, rice noodles, noodles, coffee, and milk, all of which were good. The hotel environment is excellent and peaceful, and the rooms are pure white. It's also convenient for exploring, though the steep slopes outside might be challenging for older guests with mobility issues. The hotel service is great; since there's no elevator, the butler helped carry my luggage to the room. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The surrounding area is also fantastic. I even decided to skip visiting Shuanglang and Wase. Five-star rating!"

--VickyChanThis guesthouse is located just outside Dali Old Town. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the old town. Getting a taxi was quite difficult; we waited for a long time with no luck, so we ended up walking back and forth. The guesthouse is up a small slope from the main road. On our way back from the old town, it started raining, and we had to run all the way back. I was so exhausted I ended up feeling dizzy and throwing up, just lay on the bed unable to move 😂. The guesthouse itself is quite spacious, with a lovely courtyard where the owner keeps many well-behaved cats and dogs. The room was also huge! I honestly think this was the best value-for-money accommodation out of all the guesthouses I stayed in during my 7 days in Yunnan! I especially loved the large French window in the room; the view outside looked just like a painting!! My only minor suggestion would be to replace the bath towels – they're quite old and fraying. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

GGuest UserOn my previous trip to Dali, I cycled around Erhai Lake on the west side and always wished I could stay there to watch the sunrise. This time, I stumbled upon Tingyun and it truly exceeded my expectations. I arrived around noon, and as soon as I got there, they proactively helped me with my luggage and even asked if I'd had lunch, immediately arranging some rice noodles for me. Shortly after checking in, they brought a fruit platter to my room. I had been worried about finding food on the west side of the lake, but Tingyun was incredibly thoughtful, even offering late-night snacks. Although the facilities are in a village, they meet hotel standards, and the little tables and chairs are a nice touch. There are plenty of outlets, the hygiene is excellent, the showers are comfortable, and they even use a Laifen hairdryer – no cutting corners here! I must especially praise the dining hall; the food is delicious and there's a good variety. They even prepared a souvenir for me when I checked out. Now that I've found a place in Dali that feels like home, I will definitely be back. If I hadn't had to catch a train, I would have certainly stayed longer.

GGuest UserI saw Erhai Lake, admired Cangshan Mountain, and explored the ancient city, only to discover that the most beautiful scenery was actually right inside the hotel! 😄 In the evening, I even got to witness a breathtaking sunset over Erhai and Cangshan. It was incredibly therapeutic. Even though I've seen the sea before, the beauty of Erhai is truly unique and I like it even more. The hotel boasts an excellent viewing platform, perfect for taking photos or simply unwinding. The rooms and lobby are spotlessly clean. When extending my stay, I just had to inform the staff and they would tidy up the room, showing thoughtful service and meticulous hygiene. It's very close to popular attractions like Yunxiang Mountain, Ideal State, and Xingsheng Bridge, offering convenient direct access. I was also very pleased with the room. It had a large floor-to-ceiling window, providing excellent natural light, and I loved the layout. The inclusion of a Laifen hairdryer was a generous touch and it worked wonderfully. Compared to the hotels we've stayed in Malaysia and Thailand, this place is simply paradise! Even hotels in Kunming fall short; they don't have such a magnificent view. Next time, I definitely want to try their sea view room!

The huge window gave us a wonderful view and the old town was a short lively walk straight down the hill. The only problem we had was when we had to leave early on the morning. We were locked in and couldn't phone anyone to come and unlick the door. This is also a fire hazard. Anyhow if they could work out a better system it would be perfect.

This year, when looking for a guesthouse, I surprisingly ended up booking the same place! The experience was fantastic. I parked my car at the Peninsula parking lot, and the guesthouse staff came to pick us up directly. The moment I saw the room, I was completely captivated. The location is superb – perfect for sightseeing, exploring the ancient town, and just a 50-meter walk to the boat dock. Restaurants are right downstairs. The guesthouse provides daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and even a goodnight milk service. WWaiguodepengyouFacilities: It's not super luxurious, but it has all the essentials, making you feel very comfortable and at home. The hotel even provides electric scooters for guests, which is a very thoughtful touch. Service: This is the most commendable aspect. We had an early high-speed train to catch, and the owner specially woke up early to prepare breakfast for us – so touching! Also, it turns out breakfast was included in the room rate, even though the booking stated it wasn't. Complimentary station pickup for a two-night stay: The owner is very diligent; they even confirmed with me that the arranged driver had contacted me when we were almost at the station, to avoid any oversight. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

MM415324****I was very satisfied with the room; it was the loft-style sea-view room I wanted. It's located right in the old town, making it very convenient for getting around. The service was also excellent. The butler picked us up from the parking lot early in the morning and helped with our luggage when we checked out. They even provided afternoon tea, a goodnight dessert, flower petals for the bath, and a complimentary in-store photoshoot. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe room was absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic view of Cangshan Mountain. We came just before the May Day holiday, so it was incredibly good value for money. The view was easily accessible, and having a bathtub to soak in was a real treat, so relaxing! The room also provided a tea set and tea leaves, and enjoying tea on the balcony was a delightful experience. The service was excellent. They recommended some great places to visit and the restaurants they suggested were delicious. You could really tell they put a lot of heart into running this B&B. It felt like meeting up with an old friend, a truly comfortable stay. The hygiene details were spot on, and the bed was super comfortable; I slept wonderfully every night. I've already strongly recommended it to my good friends!

You can enjoy views of Erhai Lake right from the hotel, with Wenbi Village above and Shuanglang Ancient Town below – beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The hotel's design is elegant and grand, and the rooms are fully stocked with amenities, which is incredibly thoughtful, especially for women. They even offer a rose herbal foot bath to relieve the day's fatigue. Breakfast is nutritious, clean, and well-balanced, with coffee in the morning and sweet vinegar in the evening. Plus, the hotel provides a complimentary travel photoshoot with patient photographers and photo selection staff – the pictures turn out absolutely stunning. The service is simply impeccable. Finally, a special shout-out to the young manager and all the front desk staff, both ladies and gentlemen. They are so attentive and caring; it truly feels like coming home. Honestly, if there were a ten-star rating, I wouldn't even hesitate to give it! 😁 In short, trust me, this is the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at, bar none. Just go for it!
