"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's just across the road from Dali Ancient City, yet nestled on a hillside, which keeps it wonderfully quiet at night, away from all the hustle and bustle. When you open the curtains, you're greeted by stunning views of the Cangshan Mountains. In the morning, you can see the misty mountains, and even the moon – all from the comfort of your bed. The front desk service was excellent; the staff were so attentive, warm, and enthusiastic. They gave us incredibly useful travel tips and even escorted us to our room, meticulously explaining every detail of its features. In the evenings, they'd light a bonfire in the courtyard with guests, roasting corn, brewing pear water, and serving homemade white fungus soup. We'd gather around, chatting about travel and everyday life, feeling like one big family. It truly felt like a home away from home. There are two adorable, gentle dogs and a cat in the courtyard – very friendly and happy to be petted. Our room was spotless and smart, with an electric blanket that kept us so warm at night, plus a thoughtful humidifier. The entire building has a great sense of design, with each room being unique and full of character. It was a very comfortable stay. There were quite a few foreign guests too. When we left, the front desk attendant not only helped with our luggage but also offered to take my photo on the second-floor viewing deck. He even helped me get a picture with the little dog before seeing us off at the entrance. After two days, it felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being part of a big family."

"The location is incredibly convenient; it's just an 8-minute walk to Dali Old Town, so you can avoid the tourist crowds. When you're tired from exploring, it's super comfortable to come back and relax at the hotel. The room was much larger than I expected and beautifully decorated, making for a very spacious and pleasant stay. The public areas are well-designed and highly photogenic; I took a few casual pictures and got tons of inquiries about the address when I posted them. The amenities are quite comprehensive. The fifth-floor terrace is absolutely amazing – you can watch the sunrise in the morning and lie there gazing at the stars at night, which is incredibly relaxing. Having both a washer and dryer was fantastic; no more piling up dirty laundry after a few days of travel, which is a lifesaver for lazy people like me. Free drinks are available, and there's even a mahjong machine and a tea set. My friends and I played a couple of rounds of mahjong and chatted, which was super relaxing. The service was also top-notch. Breakfast was delivered to our room punctually every morning, with generous portions and good taste. The restaurant and attraction recommendations from the guesthouse were spot-on; the wild mushroom hotpot was incredibly fresh, and the lesser-known spots weren't crowded at all, making for a really enjoyable time. They even gave us a thoughtful parting gift: Yunnan tea and flower cakes. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Dali!"

"This guesthouse is located near Dali's popular Xingsheng Bridge, a famous internet-of-things spot. Being on a very high floor, you can lean out and see the panoramic view of Erhai Lake directly from your room. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was delicious, and the auntie who prepared it was very kind – you could even ask for more if you weren't full. There's a 24-hour self-service area in the kitchen with complimentary fruits and drinks. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby. Unlike the crowded accommodations in the ancient city, this place offers a much more relaxed environment. It's very pleasant and offers excellent value for money. The guesthouse itself is quite upscale. The sea view is absolutely stunning, giving you a wonderful sense of peaceful tranquility."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location in Xiaguan, Dali's main urban area, just across the street from Erhai Lake. Directly opposite is Dali Port Pier, offering various cruise lines. The rooms are spacious, new, and well-equipped, but the highlight is the breathtaking panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. The staff are warm and responsive. A special thanks to Soraya at the front desk, who arranged a high-floor room for us, enthusiastically recommended local cuisine and attractions, and promptly answered all our questions. On our departure day, she even proactively arranged a transfer to the station for us, making us feel truly at home. The hotel breakfast is plentiful, and there are also an in-house Thai restaurant and Chinese restaurant. All in all, it was a fantastic stay."

"It's been over half a month since my trip to Yunnan, and I still find myself looking back, especially at this B&B~~ **Environment:** I truly loved it. The courtyard on the first floor has a beautiful landscape, and through a door, there's a secret garden. On the third floor, there's a terrace where I enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning (though it wasn't perfectly aligned), which was very satisfying. The room interior was also lovely; I can't quite find the words to describe it, haha~ **Service:** The front desk lady and the auntie were incredibly warm and welcoming. They helped me with my luggage, and answered all my travel questions. They even added me on WeChat a few days in advance to create a service group. Afternoon tea and breakfast could be arranged to be delivered to the room. The best part was when I came back late after going out at night, they would have already turned on the electric blanket and lights. It was incredibly thoughtful~ This was the first B&B I stayed at in Dali, and it truly set a great tone for my Dali trip. The only downside might be that the surroundings are a bit less bustling, and there's a house under renovation nearby. Other than that, everything else was absolutely fantastic~"

"This is truly a hidden gem! When I booked, I was drawn in by the 180-degree floor-to-ceiling windows and the stunning Erhai Lake views in the photos, but the room was even more beautiful in person! The room and the entire building were impeccably clean, which goes without saying. The manager, both the lady and gentleman, were incredibly warm and helpful; they responded and assisted promptly with anything we needed. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening dessert were all fantastic! We also thought the hotel's location was perfect, offering full panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. Plus, Erhai Park is right behind it, making it super convenient for walks. Being situated in a residential area, the environment is also very quiet. Overall, I highly recommend it!"

"Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities."

"The environment is quiet, clean, and perfect for relaxing. The bed was incredibly comfortable; after two nights, I wanted to take it home with me! The guesthouse is conveniently located right by the road, which is great for travelers with lots of luggage, and since the road isn't busy at all, the guesthouse remains very quiet. The rooftop offers an endless view of Erhai Lake directly in front, with the Cangshan Mountains behind it. The morning and evening views are simply stunning. The owner even upgraded me for free to a top-floor room with a sun-facing balcony, where I got to watch a beautiful sunrise. The guesthouse owner and staff are all very friendly and chatty. The owner is from Dali and knows the area exceptionally well. Their homemade Dali breakfast, especially the rice noodles, is delicious. I highly recommend staying here if you want to experience authentic Dali culture. Across the road, there's also an excellent Cantonese restaurant run by a Hong Kong owner with a Michelin-starred chef from Guangdong. The dishes are freshly prepared and very authentic, with reasonable prices. It's super convenient to walk back to the hotel just a few steps after dinner."
