"Just got back from Dali! I'd give this hotel, tucked away in an alley in the old town, full marks! The courtyard is absolutely beautiful! It's an old house that's been renovated, and from my room, I could even see the rooftops of the ancient city. The butler was super attentive, helped me with my luggage, and even recommended some local eateries. The breakfast rice noodles were delicious! It's a very photogenic place, every corner is stunning! All in all, if you want to stay in the old town but are worried about noise, this is the perfect spot! The price was also very reasonable."

"Everything was just superp from check in until check out. It was a dream stay near Dali ancient city, just 5-to-7 minutes walk to one of the gates. A lady staff, Xiao Rong was super helpful and accomodative. She even made an effort to prepare a halal breafast upon request. Thank you, Xiao Rong. The room located on the 3rd floor with a backdrop of gorgeous and breathtaking view of Cangshan mountain and traditional chinese buildings. The quality of basic amenities and bathroom amenities was also at a high end considering the room price. The interior design was a reminiscent of ancient vibes with modern blend. Highly recommended!"

"This was an incredibly chill stay, easily my top pick among all the hotels and guesthouses I've experienced in Yunnan. The staff were super enthusiastic, and their recommendations for food and activities were spot on – they clearly have great taste. I decided to extend my stay by another night on my first day, but even that wasn't enough.
The room itself was surprisingly spacious when I first walked in, and the layout felt very cozy and comfortable. It's rare to find a hotel while traveling that gives you such a strong sense of security and warmth. Every morning, pulling back the curtains to see the ocean view with seagulls flying by was incredibly therapeutic. I could easily spend an entire afternoon sitting on the window-side sofa, just gazing at Erhai Lake.
The hotel is super close to Erhai Lake; you step right out onto the coastal环海步道 (coastal walking path), which is perfect for a leisurely stroll and great for photos. The first floor has the hotel's lounge area, where you can enjoy coffee with a panoramic view of Erhai Lake through the floor-toceiling windows, or even better, sit outside. Speaking of which, I have to praise the hotel's afternoon tea. The complimentary coffee and desserts were delicious, and the latte art was impressive for a hotel coffee shop. In the evenings, you can see a very clear Milky Way, and the Big Dipper is visible just by looking up – I highly recommend taking star photos at night. There are also some fantastic local farm-to-table restaurants nearby, recommended by the staff.
Transportation to the hotel was also very convenient. I initially worried about getting taxis since it's a bit outside the city, but surprisingly, cars arrived very quickly. The hotel's location is perfect, situated between Dali Ancient City and Xizhou Ancient Town, with both just about a 20-minute drive away, making it easy to get anywhere."

"I rarely leave reviews, but I have to give this Atour a great one. First off, the service attitude was excellent; every staff member was polite and courteous. The room we initially checked into had a slight odor, and they immediately switched us to another one. We even saw them airing out the original room over the next few days, showing their great problem-solving approach. When we left, they even gave us some souvenirs.
Secondly, the room was very comfortable. The bedding and pillows were fantastic, which was a huge relief since I was traveling with my elderly mother who isn't feeling well. We both slept incredibly well for two nights. We both agreed that the best part of our Dali trip was definitely the hotel.
Other aspects like the convenient location, beautiful environment, and delicious food were all amazing. I could go on and on, but honestly, you can't go wrong with this choice."

"The location is incredibly convenient; it's just an 8-minute walk to Dali Old Town, so you can avoid the tourist crowds. When you're tired from exploring, it's super comfortable to come back and relax at the hotel.
The room was much larger than I expected and beautifully decorated, making for a very spacious and pleasant stay. The public areas are well-designed and highly photogenic; I took a few casual pictures and got tons of inquiries about the address when I posted them.
The amenities are quite comprehensive. The fifth-floor terrace is absolutely amazing – you can watch the sunrise in the morning and lie there gazing at the stars at night, which is incredibly relaxing. Having both a washer and dryer was fantastic; no more piling up dirty laundry after a few days of travel, which is a lifesaver for lazy people like me. Free drinks are available, and there's even a mahjong machine and a tea set. My friends and I played a couple of rounds of mahjong and chatted, which was super relaxing.
The service was also top-notch. Breakfast was delivered to our room punctually every morning, with generous portions and good taste. The restaurant and attraction recommendations from the guesthouse were spot-on; the wild mushroom hotpot was incredibly fresh, and the lesser-known spots weren't crowded at all, making for a really enjoyable time.
They even gave us a thoughtful parting gift: Yunnan tea and flower cakes. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Dali!"

This is such a fantastic experience staying here.
What is so impressive is the SERVICE and the actual room facilities. The staff is soooooooo friendly and helpful - he basically helped me plan my itinerary every day because I came with zero plans and only wanted to relax. He helped me to plan my route and book a car for day use. And the driver is amazing too - he brought me to try 扎染 tie dye even when I didn’t know anything about it. He made sure I went to a local experience instead of expensive tourist trap. And he’s great at taking photos too!
Back to the staff. He would understand what I’m interested in and then give suggestions that I’ll like. Amazing. And there is even a whole list of things to watch out for when visiting all the tourists attractions. When you arrive, they’ll also message you all the places to eat. There is also a convenience store right downstairs if you want to buy anything. They also gives you instructions if you want food delivery. So detailed!!
And they are so proud of the fact that their rooms are exactly what it looked like on the app. So clean so new so amazing. Look at that view! You wake up to the view of the vast sea. And there is a giant bath tub for you to experience soaking in bubble bath (also given) at the same time.
The toilets are always the make or break when travelling. And the toilets are amazing again. AUTOMATIC flush and the seat cover automatically opens and close. My goodness. And the shower has different outlets if you want some form of water acupuncture 🤣 very modern. And they even have a towel dryer/heater!!! You can dry anything small and it’ll be dry and crisp.
Normally hotel pillows give me headaches. But not here! They have the latex foam pillow and also the normal fluffy pillows. It is so suitable and comfortable for me who is accustomed to memory foam pillows. How can accommodation get so detailed and excellent?
Breakfast is another wonderful experience. You go the dining area and an aunty cooks porridge or noodles or meat buns or corn or sweet potatoes and serve them to you. There is even soya bean drink and fritters and lots of sauces and seasonings and small bites. And there is unlimited bottled beverages like honey jasmine tea or oolong tea and fruits and coffee. How do they even make a profit?
And there is even a place to rest and relax and drink tea if you come with friends. I can’t wait to come back here with more friends and family and let me experience what I enjoyed so much here. Thank you to the staff and to the boss! 😁😍

GGuest UserThe treasure dug by the trip, the mountain view room is absolutely, open the curtains is Cangshan, even the three towers of Chongsheng Temple can be seen. The room is spacious and clean. When I live here, I see that their bedding is changed for each guest and removed the cockroach! ! ! Sleeping is particularly practical. And there are smart, projection configurations, nest on the sofa to see the scenery chasing drama, comfortable to not want to go out.
The location is nothing to say, no matter whether it is a taxi or a bicycle, it is super convenient. After visiting the attractions, blow the hair in the small garden of the hotel, or go to the top floor observation deck to be in a daze. I feel that this is the correct way to open Dali! The service is also very intimate, if you have any questions, you can respond to the staff in time, the experience is directly full, and you will stay here next time!

GGuest UserThe B&B owner was incredibly kind and enthusiastic. They even helped us adjust our booking when we realized we'd chosen the wrong dates, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, the owner helped us carry our luggage up and down, which was a very thoughtful touch. The B&B itself has a great environment and beautiful views. Plus, you can rent electric scooters there, which is a really good deal. They also serve rice noodle breakfast, and we had it two days in a row – it was delicious, haha. The owner also gave us recommendations for classic tourist routes and tips, helping us avoid any pitfalls.

EEnnaService was fantastic, the host was superb! Place was clean, convenient, and included all that one could need on a vacation. In the heart of Ancient Dali, this was perfect for food, entertainment, and shopping. It is also minutes away from the famous Cangshan mountain, and the host is very considerate in assisting you with any arrangement you'd like, including cabs for railway and airport transportation.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the room matched exactly the photos that are on the site. Very often this is not the case. So, all in all it was a very pleasant experience at this location.
Would definitely stay again and certainly would recommend this to anyone travelling to Dali. As a single female, I found this place to be very safe...especially with a considerate host, who looks out for you!

GGuest UserI wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. This is my third visit to Dali, and it's by far the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at near Dali Old Town. Its location is incredibly convenient for exploring, the service from the staff was outstanding, and the bedding was exceptionally comfortable, truly living up to five-star standards. On our check-in day, it happened to be my daughter's birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised when the hotel presented her with a complimentary birthday cake. The hotel's dining experience was also exceptional. From the welcome dessert and afternoon tea to the evening sweets, every detail showcased the hotel's meticulous attention and thoughtful management. The breakfast, in particular, was a standout; for a hotel with only 10 rooms, their semi-buffet breakfast far surpassed what you'd typically find at many 5-star hotels. This is definitely a hotel worth returning to.

They helped with our luggage, were incredibly warm and welcoming, and even recommended local eateries and markets. I'd recommend driving if you can, as getting around might be a bit far otherwise. But you can always order takeout!

After they checked in, they found the room to be spacious and comfortable, and the hotel environment was very elegant and unique, with a distinct local flair. Most importantly, it's very close to the ancient city, making transportation and dining incredibly convenient. The hotel's concierge was exceptionally thoughtful, contacting us a day before their arrival to confirm their check-in time. The departure transfer service was arranged promptly, and the breakfast was much to their liking. Thank you for making my parents' first stop in Yunnan such a comfortable experience!

I looked at a lot of hotels in Dali and found this one. The location is indeed a bit out of the way, outside the ancient city, so you'll need navigation to find it.

Excellent! Throughout my stay, the staff's attitude in arranging things and helping me understand everything about the surroundings was superb.
**Cleanliness:**
The room was very clean. The hotel seems quite new, so the whole room felt great. The room they assigned me also had a view of the outside, essentially four floor-to-ceiling windows, and even a small balcony. It was really wonderful and beautiful.
I'm Uncle Ben, a man from China who believes in kindness and charm, and I highly recommend this place.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.
Location:
It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.
