Sydney Beach Hotels

"I’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing. We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once. The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat. The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep. Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.” There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs. The only real positive is the great location."

"The hotel's location is excellent, just a few hundred meters walk from Circular Quay, making it super convenient for runs towards the Opera House and Royal Botanic Garden. The facilities are of a high standard, with great attention to detail. Although the room wasn't large, it didn't feel cramped at all. I especially want to mention the service. When checking in, a Chinese-speaking front desk agent told me that the Four Seasons' breakfast is the best in Sydney and also gave me information about other hotels in the area. She spoke very clearly. The hotel breakfast was indeed good, and the dinner was actually quite nice and reasonably priced too. Other hotels really need to learn from their service. Regarding the hotel's pre-authorization process, it's pretty standard. For example, if they pre-authorize 1000 upon check-in, and your final bill is 1300, they'll just charge 1300. If it's 800, they'll charge 800, and the remaining 200 is automatically refunded to the original payment method. The next best scenario is when the original pre-authorization is cancelled, and then a new charge is made based on the consumption. Another acceptable scenario is when the total consumption is charged, and the original pre-authorization expires automatically after 30 days. The worst is when each purchase at the hotel results in a separate pre-authorization, and you don't even know if they're cancelled after checkout. Overall, there's significant room for improvement in the hotel's management and service."

"The hotel's location is excellent, with metro, bus, and the port right at its doorstep, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. The hotel lobby has plenty of sofas and several bars. The rooms are well-equipped, making it a great choice."

"The hostel was perfectly located near Bondi Beach and restaurant/bar/shops. Quiet neighborhood, quiet hostel, and great staff. Cleaning wasn't spotless but very decent if you consider that is a backpackers hostel. I've got a room upgrade which enhanced the experience. Everything is through the phone. Don't forget to download the app before hand. Was a bit stressful to be sure to don't run out of battery."

"I really enjoyed staying here ! The staff is super friendly and the rooms are nice. I had a room for myself it was a bit small for my liking but I knew I was gonna be out all day so it was fine for me. The beds are super comfy and the shared bathrooms were clean as well. Plus point for having a laundry space in the back as well so you can wash your stuff. The mall is nearby , the bus stop as well and bondi beach was a 20 min walk. I would totally book here again !"

"The neighborhood is lively, buses are almost never needed, it's very close to the beach, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are very clean. I really liked it."

"Well maintain hotel, feel like home. Worth for the money. Staff explained quite clearly, but parking need to pay. 1st park outside the street to complete the check in and obtain the carpark access card to go in the mall carpark."

"Excellent location for the perfect view of the beach. Plus sunrise. Clean room with clean beds. Toilets is usually a challenge for many guests including me. Their toilet is clean with minimal amenities. Water pressure is great. Balcony is wonderful. Room door to balcony is not very secure and tight thus the wind will sips through and do not feel scared during the night if you hear “sounds”… Only 1 lift to all levels. No breakfast available, many restaurants around at a few mins walk offers. Mac is only 1 min away. Security: after 8/10pm, the main door will be locked and need key card to tap. This is very good! There is a casino which has jackpots machines at main level. Can contribute to their economy. I did. Dinner at the hotel is decent with good pricing. Worth trying. Overall, this is a hotel I will recommend. Go for it!"

"Because the thunderstorm weather Sydney Airport was all closed, the hotel was urgently fixed that night, but it was really worth it! High cost performance, large room, large terrace, kitchen utensils, can cook, but the cooking fumes are careful, the fire alarm will ring, we will sound 2 alarms when cooking, there is a hotel security officer I ran up to see the situation and didn't say anything. We felt very embarrassed. I can eat on the terrace (Figure 1-2), and my mom gave a hearty breakfast (Figure 4). The B1 floor of the hotel elevator is the food supermarket (Figure 4). It is quite big, the dishes are very fresh, and you can do it by buying a round-trip hotel room downstairs. There is a passage at the entrance of the food supermarket. It is the road, and the road is just opposite Bondi Beach. It is very close."

"Hotel facilities are very new, but some rooms are on the half floor, the elevator needs to go to the half floor, there are steps in the room, not friendly to big boxes No front desk, pay attention to the mailbox, will send the check-in password Across the road from the bondi beach, very good.
