Impressive. We checked in late and were greeted warmly by the officer at the door, who even offered to carry our luggage even though it was clear we could manage. Hair dryer and clothes iron are available upon request. Hot water worked well. The only downside was the showerhead; the water pressure was strong and the spray was too concentrated, which made it a bit uncomfortable. A gentler, rain-style showerhead would improve the experience.

Food:
The food was okay, but the kuya in charge of the dining hall was courteous and very friendly, which made the dining experience pleasant.

Area:
The hotel is right along the main road, so noise can be noticeable, especially if your room faces the street. If you’re sensitive to noise, it’s best to request a room located away from the roadside.

Reception very accomodating. Loved that women also work at the entrance. Elevator not so friendly. As a companion of 3, Im the last guy to leave, and I experienced getting shut in between elevator doors twice. Not so painful but enough to shake my soul for a bit. Room was great, beds are okay. The floor is made out of wood so expect some creaking and crunch as you step. Some of the switches won't work until you press hard on it. Overall, it's a nice old hotel.

The specifications i requested were all provided, one with two single beds for my daughter and i. The location was also advantageous as it was a mere 10 minutes walk to the venue of the event that we were going to attend.

I'm sorry, but the musty carpet smell ruined my experience. It smells as if the hotel hasn't shampooed the carpets in 20 years. I asked to change rooms the first night, but that didn't make much difference. Such a small room window meant that I couldn't air out the room. 

The smell was so fetid, that I'd cover my nose with the bed linen just to sleep. I was tempted to sleep in the bathroom where there was no carpet, or even just book another hotel.

I can't recommend this hotel to anyone, and I won't be returning unless they remove or replace the carpet, as I doubt even a shampoo job would remove odour this bad. They've had complaints about the carpet before, so I can't see this happening. 

And that's a shame, because the decent interior design and amenities provided is on par with that of a 4 or 5 star hotel. It's too bad the hotel managers will scare off potential guests just to save costs on shampooing carpets. 

I can't always say positive things about the service, either. While the staff are polite, I'd ask them to fix my safety deposit box while I was out and it never happened. I'd have to keep reminding them to supply me with water, a little cumbersome since I really didn't have a direct way of communicating to housekeeping. There was a phone line, but calls weren't answered. 

Regarding location, you'd think it's a prime location given its proximity to Ayala Mall. Just be warned that the hotel is positioned between major traffic jams (see the photo). These traffic jams didn't just occur during peak hours, either. Otherwise, the rooms weren't as noisy as it looks.

Pros:
- friendly staff, they never fail to greet or smile when we cross paths
- spacious room
- no charge for extra blanket
- satisfying meals every breakfast
- place is near the airport

Cons:
- the air conditioner is noisy when it’s turned on
- weak water pressure from the bidet
- takes a long time to refill water in the dispenser
