No. 1 of Luxury Hotels in Hongcun Village
Banyan Tree Huangshan surrounded by awe-inspiring landscapes, Banyan Tree Huangshan captures the essence of Mount Huangshan’s enchanting aura of romance.Inspired by traditional Hui architecture and the Huangshan school of Chinese ink painting and calligraphy, the secluded resort exudes modern elegance. Banyan Tree Huangshan has 76 luxurious and well-appointed guestrooms , which include villas, suites. Be captivated by warm interiors of earth-toned hues, jade-coloured accents, stylish furnishings, wood and bamboo carvings depicting legendary stories and artworks illustrating Mount Huangshan’s arresting splendor.

"Before checking into Banyan Tree Huangshan, my expectations were really high, but I ended up quite disappointed. Let me start with the positives: 1. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, quite decent for a star-rated hotel. The fresh juices were squeezed on demand, and the fruit quality was excellent. Most importantly, the staff were very efficient at clearing tables and setting up, so there was never any waiting for a seat, everyone could get seated promptly. 2. The service throughout our stay was fantastic. Everyone was very attentive and patiently listened to guest feedback and suggestions, making adjustments proactively. The downsides, however, were quite noticeable: 1. The hardware is terrible and doesn't match the price point at all. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and just barely passable. The bathroom was particularly bad; I've never encountered such poor bathroom facilities, especially not in a five-star hotel. The shower pressure was very weak, and so was the water flow from the bathtub faucet. The toilet height was incredibly uncomfortable; even for someone of my 175cm height, it was awkward to use. Plus, the quality was poor, and due to the bad glaze, flushing was a hassle. The central air conditioning in the lobby was practically useless. Walking into the hotel lobby, it felt only a few degrees cooler than outside. We didn't want to spend any time in the public areas; with outdoor temperatures at 37 degrees Celsius, the heat in the lobby was unbearable. 2. The hotel's main selling point is its 'getaway' style, and while the environment is indeed deep in a valley, quiet and secluded, it lacks the simple recreational facilities that would make guests want to stay. I went to the pool table three times and couldn't play because there was always a queue. Besides that, there weren't many other good leisure activities. For example, the coffee and tea area wasn't appealing because the public area AC was too high, making it uncomfortable, and the cafe environment itself didn't match the price of the hotel, falling far short of many five-star hotels in scenic areas. Although the hotel advertised iron-flower performances, they were only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and we perfectly missed them during our two-day stay. In summary, the hotel's promotional pictures are very attractive, but the reality is quite different. If you're just looking for a secluded getaway, it can meet that need. For everything else, there's a lot of room for improvement."

"The hotel is conveniently located near Hongcun, about a 7-minute drive away, and the Xiuli Scenic Area is also nearby. There's an underground parking garage, so it's very convenient for those traveling by car. This is a very well-designed hotel; the corridors and courtyard arrangements are full of thoughtful details, making every photo Instagram-worthy. The facilities are also outstanding – I always give high marks to hotels that provide washlets in every room. What truly deserves the most praise is the service. My father had a toothache and wanted to eat rice porridge with vegetables, which wasn't on the menu, but they proactively offered to prepare it for him. They even checked in on him during subsequent meals. The cleaning staff also offered caring advice. And the thoughtful souvenir given at checkout – these personal touches truly enriched our trip and made it unforgettable."

"The service was excellent, with pick-up and drop-off at the train station and complimentary tickets to the nearby Xiuli Scenic Area. The complimentary one-hour singing bowl experience was wonderful; I slept comfortably. The hotel restaurant was delicious, staffed by a team of chefs specializing in intangible cultural heritage, and the price was very reasonable. Tea was proactively offered during my rest in the lobby, and the complimentary snacks were also very tasty. The room soundproofing was slightly problematic; I could clearly hear guests talking loudly outside in the morning. The singing bowl area is on the second floor of the lobby, and the noise from downstairs guests was somewhat disruptive. It would be better if they could provide a quieter location or if the front desk could remind guests during their experience. Taxi availability was limited during the May Day holiday; it's best to book a ride in advance."

You can easily take a walk to Lucun Village, and the rapeseed fields are at their most beautiful right now. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, with great views, and the bedding is super comfortable. The all-inclusive package is very convenient, and the food quality is excellent; the dinner was particularly impressive, and the coffee and desserts were also good. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful, and they helped us get some great photos. It’s perfect for a relaxing getaway. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

"This vacation was really amazing by this hotel! As soon as I stepped into the hotel, I felt like I was in a paradise, which made me relax instantly. It was raining all day and I was worried that there was nowhere to go. As a result, I was amazed by the hazy beauty of the hotel, surrounded by lush green plants, and the misty feeling. The photos were beyond the original pictures! The room facilities are also great, the bedding is comfortable, the smart equipment is complete, and even the small refrigerator is full of free drinks. The service is even better. The staff is warm and considerate, with their own sense of simplicity. The experience activities they helped to arrange are super interesting, including super sleep-aiding singing bowl therapy, moxibustion experience, and tea tasting and incense, etc. I have to say that their tea is super delicious. They are all organic teas grown by themselves, and the mountain spring water is directly used to brew. I don’t like tea and I can feel the taste of tea. There are rich breakfast options and the local specialties are also very authentic. I will choose this place for my next vacation!"

"The hotel is located in Bishan Village, just a short walk from the parking lot. The decor is quite unique for an old house. The lobby features a bar, a pool, and a fireplace, offering plenty of spots to relax. A special shout-out to the complimentary snacks – they were so delicious, I had to ask for more. The room was clean, had underfloor heating, and no strange odors. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was à la carte and tasty. My only complaint was dinner; the dishes were uninspired. An Anhui-style egg-fried rice, for example, was served cold because it had been pre-cooked for tour groups, not made fresh. Since it's in a quiet ancient village, most shops close after 6 PM. There are only a couple of streets to explore, and two to three hours is more than enough time, so there's no need to stay an extra night."

The Garden of Forking Paths, Yixian is located in Pancun, Guanlu, Yixian County, Huangshan City. Together with the ancient city of Yixian (a national historical and cultural city), the world cultural heritage sites Xidi and Hongcun, and the traditional Chinese villages of Tachuan, Bishan, Pingshan, Nanping, and others, it weaves the most classic constellation of ancient Huizhou villages. Following a winding path through a hundred mu of rice paddies, at the fork of the path stand six buildings and courtyards reconstructed on ruins; they are of different eras and contrasting styles yet wonderfully combined. The name "The Garden of Forking Paths" is taken from Borges' novel of the same name, which is the literary expression of such a scene. Guest rooms are distributed among the various courtyards, offering views of mountains, fields, or gardens. At the center stands the Boyatang · Borges Library, with its structure of bundled columns and stacked beams—a design独创 by the architect. Around it are the Zaoshu Restaurant, converted from a cattle shed; a swimming pool built amidst ruins, the only one of its kind in China; and the Pancun Shop, which gathers local goodies from neighbors. On the periphery are the Luye Starry Camp and Luye Pond. With the outlines of mountains and the lines of the fields, against the simple backdrop of nature, Eastern and Western, ancient and modern architectural cultures interweave here, making it a veritable museum of architecture in the rice fields. The Garden of Forking Paths represents a breakthrough in design boundaries: centered on the philosophical concept of "crossing, converging, and blending," it uses the rural landscape of ancient Huizhou as its canvas to paint a picture that extends through profound time and space—this is its aesthetic pursuit. It is not simply a homestay or hotel; instead, it pulses with the gentle heartbeat of ancient Huizhou villages, following the rhythm of the natural seasons to reclaim the inner order that people have lost, creating a life scene that harmonizes with nature and returns to farming and reading, restoring a genuine and simple pastoral dwelling. This is not a scene that any designer can design, but a place where you, after much searching, finally arrive to find yourself at peace—The Garden of Forking Paths: living in seclusion in the wilderness, living a simple life alongside the rice seedlings.

"About a 25-minute drive from Yixian East Station, passing through a field of golden rice paddies, the hotel is located at the far end, comprised of several traditional Hui-style buildings, exuding local charm. The facilities and cleanliness were commensurate with the price; it was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during this trip. The room was spotless and odor-free, with basic smart technology, and the service was highly professional, paying attention to every detail. The extra surprises were also just right, allowing me to completely enjoy my stay. Behind the hotel is a small village, quiet and beautiful, perfect for a leisurely stroll and appreciating the architectural and cultural beauty. The only thing that needs adjustment is the breakfast; it's basically the same every day, so you need to put in a little more effort. The complimentary Shouzhuo Garden is definitely worth a visit; it's not crowded, and several spots offer great photo opportunities."

Located in the leisure, vacation, and wellness tourism destination of Huangshan, the hotel is situated in the ancient city of Yixian, a national historical and cultural city. The surrounding ancient villages such as Hongcun, Xidi, Nanping, Bishan, Shouzhuo Garden, and Xiuli are notable for their traditional Huizhou architecture and ancient Huizhou culture. The area combines this cultural heritage with the beautiful natural landscapes of Daguling, Wuxi Mountain, and Shilin Water World. The hotel, situated near Yixian in Huangshan, Anhui, covers a total area of 64 acres, with a building footprint of approximately 4,000 square meters. The property features 15 new-style Huizhou garden villas, offering 37 rooms, each equipped with modern intelligent butler services. The design concept comes from Cheng Xi, the founder of Nomadland villa resort. The villas are nestled in a landscape that combines mountains, fields, and traditional Huizhou scenic elements, creating a serene garden retreat. A winding stone path connects the new-style Huizhou architecture within the courtyard, with buildings, forests, and rice fields reflecting in the landscape pond, offering a “great peace” experience.

"Seeing the words ”natural healing”, my husband and I chose this hotel located at the foot of Huangshan Mountain and between the mountains and wilds. After checking in, every detail amazed us. The service, meals, guest rooms, gardens, etc., slowly experience, you can feel the ubiquitous but not deliberate design. In fact, the hotel facilities are very luxurious, but because of the Zen concept, the hotel does not use those as a gimmick, just hope that guests feel comfortable. So when we reluctantly left the hotel, we realized the meaning of ”Wumingchu”. This is a comfortable experience, the body and nerves, thoughts and feelings are relaxed and pleasant, and it is also an education and improvement of our aesthetics and life details. Thank you Wumingchu, it is worth the trip."
