Mountain View Hotels in Busan

"My youngest child is a student at Korea Maritime & Ocean University, so my family visits Yeongdo every quarter for a trip and school matters. We usually stay in Yeongdo, but this time we looked for accommodations in Songdo, which is closer to the university, and ended up at First Ocean. First of all, the visual of the ocean spread out before you is amazing. While the Yeongdo accommodations also had great views of Hari Port, Songdo offers a different kind of scenery. Being a tourist area, there are plenty of dining options nearby, and we even got a discount on the cable car – we really enjoyed the vacation vibe. The facilities are clean, and the self-check-in, which allows you to enter anytime, saved us waiting time, which was all great. Regarding parking, since my car is an SUV, it was a bit tighter than the Yeongdo accommodations, but the parking attendant made sure we had a spot for our two-night stay, which was a big plus. Since we come here often, we definitely plan to stay here again next time."

"The hotel environment and rooms were actually quite good. All the hotel's restaurants, even the in-room dining, were delicious. I stayed for three consecutive days and was very satisfied with the environment. However, I'm not sure if it's because the hotel is too new, but there was construction every morning. Even after moving from the third floor to the seventh, I could still hear the noise, which was really loud. I communicated with the hotel twice, but it didn't help. Maybe Koreans wake up very early, but I didn't get a good night's sleep any day. The construction started as early as 7 AM 🫣. If you're not an early riser, I'd suggest reconsidering staying here for now."

"The entrance to the building is a bit hard to find. It's right next to Jagalchi Station. On the other side of the station, there's a Hanaro Mart where you can buy food, alcohol, and other items. The Jagalchi Market is also near that Hanaro Mart, and it's a great place to eat breakfast. You can enjoy local dishes at a reasonable price. Be aware that they don't accept cards, so you'll need cash. To get to Busan Gimhae Airport from the hotel, you can take bus route 3003 from a nearby bus stop, and it takes about 50 minutes. The fare is 2100W. It's cheap and convenient since there are no transfers. However, Busan buses often refuse large suitcases, so this is only suitable for those with small carry-ons or backpacks."

"Much better than I expected! The window view was great and the room was spacious. I suspect the hotel information is incorrect; it felt much larger than 18 square meters. The twin room actually came with two double beds, making it feel more like a quad room. They provided four slippers, four towels, and four bottles of water. It was very roomy for two people, though it might be a bit tight for four. The facilities were good, but the bathroom sink didn't have any space for toiletries – a clear case of cutting corners where they could and spending where they had to. The location is excellent, right across from the Canned Food Market. It's a bit of a walk to the subway station, but acceptable. The front desk wouldn't provide extra bottled water; there was only a water dispenser available. I only stayed one night, and the cleanliness was decent."

"Excellent location, but very bad condition of bathtub and rugs. We stayed here only for nights, so it was enough, but don't recommend it if you have allergies. Very friendly administrators. But the cleaning lady doesn't understand the difference between two sides of card ”do not disturb/please, clean” and trying to clean either way 😄 If you want to use the luggage storage - you need to pay returnable deposit."

"While the room was clean, my stay at Avani Central Busan was underwhelming. The location is not strategic, being quite far from major subway stations, making transportation difficult. Furthermore, it is hard to find restaurants or dining options in the immediate vicinity. For a recognized chain hotel, the service fell short: they refused to warm up food, and when asked for ice, I was told to buy it at a convenience store. Not recommended for travelers looking for convenience."

"The hotel boasts an excellent location. Gwangbok Fashion Street is right on its doorstep, and the escalator to Busan Tower is just a two-minute walk away. Getting to other attractions by bus is also very convenient."

"This feels like a luxury hotel, but the substance is lacking… 1. **No in-room phone.** If I wanted to call the front desk, I had to use my own phone to find the number in the booklet and dial it. 2. **Low floors are… well.** The 'ocean view' was useless. Some building's water tank and a Holly's coffee shop blocked most of it. I had to crawl on the floor, taking 5,000 photos, to get just one decent shot. So, if you're on a low floor, you'll have to crawl to see the ocean! Okay, maybe this is my fault for not paying more for a higher floor. BUT, the room photos in the introduction made it seem like there was an unobstructed ocean view, which feels like a scam. There weren't many hotel reviews, so I couldn't have known. I feel cheated. 3. **The biggest problem is privacy.** The toilet faces a window, and the jacuzzi and shower are also in front of full-length windows. Since it's a low floor, you can make eye contact with people in the cafe across the street. My bathroom breaks, showers, and jacuzzi use could all be public! I don't know if the windows are meant to be covered, but it felt very awkward. I had to keep the blinds fully down to use the bathroom and jacuzzi, which defeats the purpose of an 'ocean view' and felt very stifling. They told me not to close the jacuzzi window because of humidity, but the shower is right there, and I almost froze showering! Seriously, you'd think they'd put more thought into the design, even beyond the ocean view… 4. **The room is so big, but there are no mirrors anywhere** you’d expect one! Only the bathroom mirror, which made doing makeup and getting dressed in the morning incredibly inconvenient. 5. **I used a barrier-free room, but as an able-bodied person, I didn't feel any consideration for disabled guests.** Even I, a seasoned traveler in my 20s, had trouble distinguishing between the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I almost ran out of hot water in the shower trying to figure it out. The labels are tiny and on the back somewhere, so you have to really search. Couldn't they use dedicated bottles or at least proper labeling? 6. **There's no room service or similar services, but other services are expensive.** Maybe I just couldn't find it, but usually, hotel F&B services are in the in-room booklet, aren't they? There was nothing. Okay, maybe because it's a lower-star hotel, it wouldn't have it. BUT, late check-out extension costs 33,000 won (which isn't cheaper than other luxury hotels). So, the standard doesn't reach luxury hotel levels, but the service fees feel comparable to one. Breakfast also felt similar, so I didn't use it. Considering all of this, if you're just looking for a cost-effective place, it's okay."

"Loved the hotel. Great location: close to the port, Lotte Mall, Nampodong, the park with the tower, and the fish market. All within walking distance. Public transport stops are also nearby, making it easy to get anywhere. The rooms are spacious, with a separate toilet and shower. In addition to the wet-room style shower, there's also a bathtub. The room also features a smart toilet. There are many cafes nearby offering a variety of dining options, from fast food to traditional cuisine. We didn't opt for breakfast, but the room was equipped with a refrigerator, kettle, cups, tea bags, and a table with chairs, perfect for a quick snack. Housekeeping is available upon request. We stayed on the 12th floor, and our view overlooked the port and the park with the TV tower. While there were many buildings, we could still catch a glimpse of the sea. The staff were polite, answered all our questions, and spoke English."

"I love the terrace so bad, Magnificent place for seeing sunrise. Also the private mini bathtub at the terrace, great choice for being wet without having sand. It’s only 2 minutes by the beach. At 2nd floor they have laundry room for free (but you have to purchase the soap at lobby for 2000₩). Every floor have microwave in front of the lift.  In our opinion, the ocean view room is the best way to stay there."
