"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Guilin and would highly recommend it to international travelers. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is thoughtfully designed and well-maintained, and you can really feel the attention to detail throughout the property.
What stood out most was the service—staff were attentive, helpful, and went beyond our expectations to meet every need quickly and efficiently. Communication was smooth, even for international guests, which made the entire stay stress-free.
A lovely bonus was the Italian-style coffee machine located downstairs, which served excellent coffee and made mornings even better.
Overall, a fantastic experience and excellent value. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Guilin."

"The family room was very spacious, and they provided a baby cot, which is a huge plus for families with infants. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel's location is excellent; it's about a 10-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill, and right next to it are Dongxi Alley and the pedestrian street, making dining very convenient. The Lao Dongjiang rice noodles were really good, and I also recommend trying the glutinous rice balls. The prices in Guilin are incredibly affordable! Just a heads-up: avoid the '40-year-old restaurant' for beer fish that taxi drivers recommend – it's overpriced and not tasty at all."

"Heshe Hotel stands as one of the finest resorts for accommodation in Guilin. Their hospitality, culinary offerings, ambiance, and staff are all exceptionally delightful and helpful.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by amazing front desk attendant, Melody. She assisted us through out our stay and made sure we’re comfortable and well taken care of and our tour guide, Eric, who communicated fluently in English, significantly easing our experience as non-Chinese speakers.
The owner was equally gracious, sharing their barbecue with us, creating a sense of homeliness. This hotel is located just 15 minutes from the main tourist attractions, with rooms that are very clean and offer breathtaking views.

"The environment here is really great! The lady at the front desk saw we had two large suitcases and even upgraded our room. The hygiene is excellent, and there's a full-length mirror. I especially loved the large window that made the room so bright during the day. I was surprised to find a scale, and the slippers were even individually sealed. They offer laundry and drying service; you just hand your clothes to the front desk, and they'll take care of it. Plus, they gave us a late check-out. The hotel is also super close to the scenic spots, easily reachable by foot or a shared bike. I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"I chose a relatively new hotel on Trip.com. The location is super convenient; it's a 7-minute walk to Xiangshan Park and a 5-minute walk to ZhengYang Street and DongXiang Alley, making everything easily accessible on foot. I booked a family room, which was incredibly spacious. From the room's balcony, I had a beautiful lake view and could see the Twin Towers, which are even more stunning when lit up at night. Breakfast was also very satisfying. The hotel provided a dedicated butler service upon check-in, who sent a detailed guide covering dining, entertainment, and activities. This saved me a lot of time I would have spent researching on XiaoHongShu. Upon arrival, staff members helped open car doors and handle luggage. They also assisted with opening car doors when we took a taxi. The service was excellent. Finally, upon check-out, the front desk attendant gave us a souvenir and helped us into our car. "The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable! It's right next to Zhengyang Pedestrian Street and all the major attractions like Xiangshan Mountain, all within walking distance, making sightseeing and shopping incredibly convenient. The rooms are clean and tidy, with complete amenities. The rooftop observation deck is the real highlight – you can take in the breathtaking views of the Li River from there, the scenery is absolutely stunning. All the pictures below were taken from the observation deck. The service was warm and meticulous, attentive and thoughtful throughout, making us feel completely at home. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of delicious options. Overall, our stay was super satisfying, and this will be our top choice for future visits to Guilin!"

PPipajiKicking off our spring break, we headed south through Guilin, Yangshuo, Nanning, and Beihai. Yangshuo Wangjianglou Inn was by far the most comfortable and convenient place we stayed. The inn's design and layout exceeded my expectations; the quality was truly impressive. Given the limitations of the building itself, they ingeniously installed a luggage elevator, which was incredibly thoughtful for both guests and staff – big thumbs up! Yangshuo county is quite small, so there's really no need to stay directly in the scenic area (it's inconvenient, overpriced, and you'd need taxis for meals and transportation, adding to costs). Staying in the West Street commercial district was a very smart decision. We stayed and ate at Wangjianglou (for those who know, their restaurant is a super popular, must-try spot in Yangshuo with long queues!). As a guest, you don't have to wait; the front desk concierge helps with reservations directly, and you even get a 10% discount on meals, which is a fantastic deal. I'm already planning to bring my family back after May Day and will definitely be staying at Wangjianglou again!

YYouxiandeyunThe hotel's location right by the Li River is quite peaceful, which I prefer over the noisy West Street area since I'm a light sleeper. I really appreciate that the front desk upgraded my room type. It's not far from West Street pedestrian street either, offering a quiet escape while still being convenient, almost like being on a backstreet in the countryside. The hotel also has its own restaurant where I ate both my meals; the food was delicious and good value for money, plus guests get a 10% discount. After dinner, a stroll along the river is lovely and relaxing, with locals also out for walks. You can get some great photos of the river and mountain views from the hotel's rooftop. They also offer self-service laundry and drying, which is super handy given how rainy and humid the weather can be here. All the staff, including housekeeping and restaurant servers, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

I have to give a big thumbs up to Hongming Travel Photography! Although this was a complimentary experience from the hotel, everyone on the team was incredibly kind, attentive, and patient. The weather was scorching on the day of the shoot, but the photographer remained very dedicated and professional. The whole experience was fantastic, highly recommended!
We booked two rooms, and the service was thoughtful and thorough. There's a large lawn, pet feeding, and other activities, so you can easily entertain the kids all day without leaving the hotel. The experience was truly amazing.

This hotel exceeded my expectations by far, and it’s well worth the price. I would like to start by mentioning the breakfast, with plenty of both Chinese and Western options, among which the Guilin rice noodles were the absolute highlight for me! I loved eating this local dish every morning—light yet filling, and so rich in flavor!
Another highlight was, without a doubt, the large pool with stunning views. It was always super clean and never crowded—a must in this weather! Also, the whole outdoor area is perfect for taking lovely pictures.
The room didn’t disappoint—big, bright, and luxurious, with a lovely view of the mountains (opening the curtains every morning was a show!) and a cozy bathtub.
Finally, I would like to thank the hotel staff for being so helpful and kind throughout the stay, and for helping us book a taxi to our next destination.
Honestly, there’s nothing bad I can say about this place, and I would totally recommend it. Can’t wait to be back!

Big thanks to Lily and Reina, the two housekeepers. They were super sweet and helpful the whole time, took care of all my requests patiently.
I also wanna praise photographer Caicai. She’s really good at taking pictures! She knows perfect angles and guides me to pose naturally, all photos turned out gorgeous.
The rooms are clean and facilities are nice. Great scenery, thoughtful service and amazing free photoshoot. Definitely my top pick for Yangshuo, I will come back again!

First things first: More than just accommodation, it's a destination.
Yangshuo boasts countless hotels, but Jiyun Shangyuan is an utterly underrated 'heavenly guesthouse'. This stay offered a complete cure for the senses – visual, taste, and soul. It’s truly a perfect hotel with no flaws!
Reason for a perfect score one: Divine views that 'frame' the karst landscape into your room.
The hotel is located in the heart of the Ten-Mile Gallery, far from the hustle and bustle of West Street, enjoying its own tranquil space.
Our room featured a floor-to-ceiling glass window spanning an entire wall. Honestly, photos don't capture even a tenth of its beauty! The misty green hills of the Yulong River unfold before you like a dynamic IMAX movie. It truly lives up to 'open the window to a view, sleep under the moon, and wake with the sunrise'. Lying in bed gazing at the mountains and waters, or watching stars from the balcony bathtub – this ultimate sense of relaxation is something no other scenic spot along the Li River can offer.
Reason for a perfect score two: Heartfelt service that treats guests like 'family'.
The service here could easily be a textbook example for the industry. If 10 is a perfect score, I'd give it 100 points.
From the butler's proactive contact after booking to the warm reception upon arrival, the entire process was smiling and efficient. When the Li River was flooding, the butler constantly reminded us to be safe. When our child wanted local fruit, the butler thoughtfully provided some. After playing in the water, our clothes got wet, and there's a self-service laundry room. We even forgot our clothes in the laundry, and the butler kindly delivered them to our room. This feeling of 'everything is handled, every need is met' is truly more touching than the standardized service of a five-star hotel.

Regarding dining, the Chinese breakfast offered authentic Guilin rice noodles, while the Western breakfast perfectly blended with Lipu taro and pumpkin. The afternoon tea was exquisite, and the coffee at Cloud Restaurant was top-notch, with the Basque cheesecake being unforgettable. The lighting in the restaurant also helps for great photos.
In terms of amenities, the hotel spared no expense: King Koil mattresses, Kohler sanitary ware, Dyson hairdryers, and even a thoughtful self-service laundry room. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, showing attention to detail. It offers the warmth of a guesthouse while maintaining five-star hotel hardware standards.
Reason for a perfect score four: Immersive local cultural experiences.
This place isn't just selling scenery; it's dedicated to sharing culture. The hotel is filled with Zhuang elements. Beyond beautiful decor, you can also enjoy free photo shoots in traditional Zhuang attire. Against the backdrop of the infinity pool and the mountains, every shot looks like a magazine cover.
Furthermore, activities like hand-sewing embroidered balls and making oil tea kept both adults and children engaged. Families with kids don't need to worry about boredom, as the children's playground and pool are enough to tire out the little 'beasts'.
Final thoughts: We'll be back.
Our stay happened during heavy rain, but after the rain cleared, the scenery was even more beautiful. Regardless of the weather, Jiyun possesses a different charm. We even felt a little reluctant to leave. Just like its name suggests, there's an ethereal, otherworldly quality here, yet it's filled with the warmth of home.
If you come to Yangshuo, you must 'waste' your time at Jiyun Shangyuan.
Tips:
· We recommend booking a panoramic room type or a family room for the best views.
· Definitely try the hotel's electric bicycle rental; the Ten-Mile Gallery is right at the doorstep.
· The hotel is very close to the Yulong River rafting (Shuidi section), within walking distance, which is very convenient.

GGuest UserThe Shangri-La's signature scent, a well-equipped gym that even has a ping-pong table where my husband and I battled it out for 40-50 minutes (and I got thrashed!), indoor and outdoor pools, its own garden, and even free-roaming peacocks and enclosed pigeons and pheasants – kids would absolutely love it, especially since the 'zoo' staff are incredibly friendly. One lovely lady even gave me an egg and told me to feed the whites to the pigeons and the yolk to the peacocks... The backyard leads directly to the Li River, and looking out the window is like gazing at a painting. Guilin city itself is just so-so, but I'd definitely come back just for this hotel.
