"It was a little disappointing when the receptionist was being quite unprofessional as I approached her for a spare room card. She told me that the guest was British after I told her my surname meaning that she didn't consider that a Chinese person can be British, how backwards and ****** such behavior this is. Lack of exposure might be the answer ;however, I was expecting a lot more from a 4 star establishment. Must I stress that the reason we conversed in Mandarin is a respect to the local staff yet it always backfires in situation like this. More training should be provided."

"I stayed here on a weekday and found it to be pretty good value for money. Although check-in isn't until 8 PM, a 12 PM check-out is still convenient. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but there's a Pxmart, Poya, and convenience store nearby, so you don't have to worry about not finding anything to eat. The room was spacious, but the bathtub had a lot of human residue. I didn't notice it at first when filling the tub, but then I looked closely and realized I could easily feel it just by touching it, which was a bit disgusting. Other than that, everything else was actually quite good."

"The service was great, and there's free coffee and biscuits on the first floor. It's right next to the Ten Drum Culture Park, which has an amazing band. It's also very close to the Chimei Museum. The view from the window was decent, and breakfast was good."

"This hotel was a fantastic choice for my solo trip! The only minor issue was the noisy doors, which aren't soundproofed. However, the overall environment was excellent, and the complimentary afternoon tea and dinner were wonderful. The braised pork rice was so delicious I had multiple bowls every day! Downstairs, there's a self-service laundry, a coffee shop, and a 7-Eleven. Many attractions are within walking distance, too. I love Tainan, and I really enjoyed my stay at Zhaixia Du."

"The woman who has relative in Turkey at the reception was so helpful and nice sorry can’t remember her name but she wears glasses. Room was clean and big. There were some nice decorations in the hotel is near to the train station and generally a nice place. Everything was working."

"This hotel really added a bonus to my trip in Tainan. It was honestly comfortable till the stage when the day ended, we actually looked forward to return to the hotel (didn’t feel like a hotel anymore, but more like going home) The location is really good too. It’s in a pretty open area surrounded by residential places, markets, and sports areas, so everything is quite convenient. Places like Shennong Street and other attractions are about a 15-18 minute walk away. The whole area is nice for city walks, just casually walking around also feels interesting. The room itself is new, clean, and well designed. Bathroom has proper dry-wet separation feels really nice and relaxing. The bed is also super comfortable and clean (there was just a few tiny hole, but it didn’t really affect anything) Overall, the whole place has a really nice vibe. Good service, good room, good location, honestly very worth it for the price. My friend and I really liked it, and we didn’t really want to leave when we checked out."

"The room was lovely and quiet at night. Although there isn't a water dispenser, there was a kettle in the room and water available in the common area, which was nice. The WiFi in the room wasn't working from check-in, but I contacted the staff and it was fixed the next day. I appreciate their prompt response. It's within walking distance of Tainan Station, the shower in the room had hot water and good pressure, so I'd definitely like to stay here again when I visit Tainan."

"We stayed at Avon's Airbnb for three days and had a very pleasant experience. On our first day, Avon and her husband gave us a warm welcome, complete with delicious cake. Avon gave us tons of food recommendations based on our preferences, and we ended up trying over 20 local eateries in Tainan – we only wished we had bigger stomachs! The room was super clean and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. My husband even wanted to ask Avon where she bought the pillows because he slept so well (he's very particular about beds and pillows, and used to even bring his own when traveling, but Taiwan was too far for that). Getting around was also very convenient, with so many delicious local snacks nearby; three days just wasn't enough to try everything. We definitely want to stay in Tainan longer if we get the chance again. A big thank you to Avon and her husband! Just a small suggestion: a little stool by the door would make putting on shoes much easier when heading out."
