"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"Xiao Mei and Bei Bei provided excellent butler service. The hotel offers 24-hour butler service, and the afternoon tea and other amenities are quite innovative. The hotel's Baroque style decor is very thoughtful. For extended stays, the butler contacts you every morning to arrange housekeeping, which is very considerate. The hotel also provides laundry service; the butler picks up the clothes, washes them, and returns them, so you don't have to worry about it. Special praise to the butler service! I really liked it; it was very thoughtful. The hotel staff were all very polite, professional, and communicated smoothly!"

"This stay was absolutely perfect! The guesthouse is clean and elegant, with a warm and cozy atmosphere throughout. There are even cute cats and dogs in the yard, adding to the wonderful vibe. The owner is incredibly welcoming and kind, proactively helping us with our luggage, sharing delicious homemade meals, and thoughtfully recommending off-the-beaten-path routes. Their attention to detail and care felt just like family, making our trip full of warmth and joy! I have to commend the super thoughtful guesthouse owner! Not only did they proactively help with luggage and prepare tasty homemade dishes, but they also precisely recommended attractions based on our preferences, helping us avoid crowds. They responded promptly to any requests, treating us with genuine warmth and care like a friend. It was a comfortable and reassuring stay, making the experience absolutely fantastic! This stay was such a pleasant surprise! The guesthouse owner is genuinely kind and warm-hearted. They proactively helped us with our luggage up and down the stairs and shared their homemade meals, which were simple yet delicious. When it came to sightseeing, they patiently recommended local hidden gems, food, and routes, and even thoughtfully reminded us about travel precautions. Every detail showed their sincerity, making the trip exceptionally warm and healing."

"I have only good things to say about my stay here at Liaofan Lakeview Inn. The host is so helpful and provided recommendations on where to eat and travel on my itinerary. He also provided guides and tips on how to travel around the Erhai Lake. The view from our accommodations was also facing the Erhai Lake directly, as per the photo guides while booking. 10 out of 10 will recommend to anybody looking to stay around East side of Erhai Lake."

"The room was very clean and quiet. If you book a sea view room, you can check in and take pictures on the balcony in the room. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic. She even arranged a pick-up for us when we arrived in Dali at 10 o'clock in the evening. When we saw that we had children, she upgraded us to a larger room and provided us with breakfast. My baby cooked baby rice noodles alone, which was really heartwarming. I will choose here again next time I come to Dali."

"We booked two rooms. The room with a view of Erhai Lake was very nice and the children liked it very much. The room was clean and there was an elevator inside, which was convenient for the elderly and for carrying luggage. The housekeeper was responsible and entertained us with tea and chat. The children were also very happy. There was a small garden. Finally, they helped us get a taxi before we left. In short, it is highly recommended. However, the towels and supplies can be replaced appropriately, as they are a bit old."

"The B&B was recommended by a friend who came back from Dali. The store manager picked us up at the airport. He chatted with us very cordially along the way. We were really shocked by the dazzling array of African handicrafts in the lobby. The lady made us free coffee which was sweet and delicious. The room was very large and comfortable. Lying on the bed, we could see the beautiful Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake and the sunset. The terrace and garden on the second floor were very inspired. It felt like being in Monet's paintings. In the evening, the boss played the piano and sang. We boiled tea around the stove and sang along with the boss's melody. It was very pleasant. 👍👍👍👍👍"

"I rarely write positive reviews, but I think this place deserves one! I booked the room around 11 PM the night before. After comparing many guesthouses in the area, I found this one. A 90+ square meter sea-view suite for only 600+ RMB! Plus, there's only one room per floor, so you don't have to worry about being disturbed. The value is absolutely amazing!!! The room has a super spacious sea view and even a bathtub. Taking a bath while looking at Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake—it's simply divine! As someone who loves ambiance, this place is perfect for me. 🤩 Because I arrived late, the front desk staff waited for me and even helped me with my luggage. They really appreciate the attention to detail. 🥹 Breakfast is right downstairs! 💯 Full marks! Highly recommended!!!"

"The rooms are fully equipped, large in size and very hygienic! The surrounding natural environment is beautiful and pleasant! It is a store run by a family! The breakfast made by the boss and the proprietress is very good! Not only the seasonal fruit, but also the pick-up station, especially suitable for self-driving travel."

"The room size is suitable and the private courtyard is very comfortable. There were mice digging through the trash cans one night...if this hadn't happened, my stay would have been quite comfortable. Recommend~"
