"This is a massive hotel, truly a 'city within a city.' The interior is luxurious. The rooms are a bit dated, but that wasn't a big deal for us. What was an issue, though, was the lack of towels: upon check-in, we only had two bath towels and two small hand towels. On the second day, during room cleaning, they took the two small towels and didn't replace them. However, we were only staying for two nights, so even this minor inconvenience wasn't critical. Around the hotel, there's a huge market with clothes and small cafes. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride to River City and a 20-minute walk to Khao San Road. You can also take a boat along the canal right next to the hotel to get to the subway, which is fast and inexpensive."

"The hotel has its upsides: spacious rooms, and a family room with two 1.5-meter beds, which is a rare find in Bangkok. I booked a family room with breakfast and free cancellation for 600 RMB during Chinese New Year, and it even had a balcony – all definite pluses! It's a good choice for families with kids, especially if the price is right. However, the downsides are also pretty clear: the facilities are old, there's a persistent humming noise that I couldn't pinpoint, and a lack of power outlets. The area around the hotel entrance is heavily congested, so getting a taxi usually means a 15-minute wait. There aren't many restaurants or massage places nearby, though you can walk to the Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium in about 10 minutes. Despite my request, I wasn't given an end room. The hotel staff seemed more enthusiastic towards Western guests, and the breakfast was mediocre – definitely not worth paying extra for if it's not included."

"Honestly, this hotel deserves no more than a 3-star rating. And the 3-star is only for the location. All the other things deserve 1-star. The only positives are its location and the lobby. Everything else was disappointing. The furniture is very old and of poor quality, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the bathroom had a constant unpleasant smell. The room had almost no soundproofing. Even though we were staying on the 11th floor, we could clearly hear traffic from the street, passing cars, and children playing in the pool as if the window were open. The room door was also made of very poor-quality wood, so every time someone walked through the hallway, we could hear their footsteps, doors slamming, and loud banging noises. There was never a moment of peace and quiet—between the traffic, the noise from other guests due to the lack of soundproofing, constant door slamming, and even sounds coming from the pipes inside the walls. I swear I can hear the mans cough and talking in the next room.. We also asked the hotel if they could store just one suitcase for us while we traveled to Phuket and returned to Bangkok. They refused, saying they would only do so if we had another reservation with them. I have stayed at lower-rated hotels that happily stored our luggage even though we were not coming back, so this was disappointing. We also asked if they could extend our checkout by just two hours since our flight was at 2:00 PM, but they refused without offering any flexibility. Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would not recommend it to anyone."

"When we are in Bangkok, we always choose Ayathorn. If you’re planning to explore the old part of Bangkok, this hotel is a great base. Many of the main attractions are within a 20–30 minute walk, and if you prefer, a short tuk-tuk ride gets you there even faster. There are also several very good local restaurants just a few minutes away on foot, which makes evenings easy and enjoyable. The rooftop is a nice plus perfect for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing, with a relaxing atmosphere, or for spending some time in the pool. One thing to be aware of is the major renovation works currently happening in front of the building, which can cause traffic congestion and some noise during the day. However, you can minimize this by booking a river-facing room, which is quieter. Also, if you arrive early, the hotel offers the option to check in before the standard time for an additional fee, which can be very convenient after a long flight."

"The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the hot water in the shower worked. It also has a fridge, AC and hairdryer. It can be a little noisy until midnight (not because of traffic but other guests). You can bring your clothes to a laundry nearby and they will deliver it back to the hotel on the same day (1,5kg for 150 THB). I had a very pleasant stay here and would come back again."

"I booked this hotel last minute, and it was bigger than I expected. The room was clean and tidy. There's a 7-Eleven just a short walk from the hotel entrance, along with some street stalls. The room rate was quite reasonable too. I recall the deposit being either 1000 baht or 200 RMB. The location is a bit far from the nearest MRT station. It took about 20 minutes by taxi from Phaya Thai, and there was some traffic. However, there's a bus stop about a five-minute walk away, which offers a direct route to the CentralWorld shopping area."

"I stayed in room 307 I was arriving late so they sent me check in instructions as no one would be there. I arrived and found all was as described and entered without any issues. I found the room lacking, it’s pretty basic and a lick of paint would give it a brighter cleaner appearance as there were a lot of rub marks on the white walls which made it look grubby. There also wasn’t really anywhere to put you luggage so I had to use the stall. There was 2 x bottles of water, glasses, nox of tissues, 2 towels. By the sink which is in the room not the bathroom there was soap dispenser, and next to that a shelf with rail and hangers. The bathroom was small it had shampoo and shower gel dispenser but they either didn’t work or there was hardly any left it was hard to tell. The shower holder had broken and was hard to position to prevent the whole area getting wet which was an issue as if you shower at night the floor to access the loo would be soaked and dangerous a squeegee would be handy here. The loo had a bin next to it and a box with a loo roll in it. On the back of the room door was some quite firm instructions and details about fines for damages which I found a little strong. Also stated no eating in room due to any and cockroaches, which brings me to note as I closed the door upon entering a small cockroach looking creature came through the hinge. Then I scoured the room and found another same looking bug. Now I’ve seen big dark brown ones and small ones before this was not that so that’s why I say ‘creature’. I googled and found many people saying expect roaches and bugs, I found it hard to sleep and bought a can of roach/bug spray effective for 12 hours and sorts the room the next morning. I slept better that night. The room did not have a kettle I’m guessing because sugar would attract bugs. But there was tea and coffee down stairs in the bar reception area, this is a very ‘eclectic’ area. There’s lots of stuff which makes it interesting and gives it the character which looks great in photos but unfortunately has gathered dust so could do with a good spring clean. The staff I found were extremely helpful and very friendly and made the stay very pleasant. There are loads of street food places and restaurants and bars near by also a 7/11 right across the street where they do an amazing latte for just 40 baht also there is a cash point which I’m sure I didn’t get charged a fee to use! All in all this location is central and gives you walking access to most of the city sights I walked a big route talking in the Golden Mount, round to the reclining Buddha and loads of other temples on the way and way back. The place just needs a little refresh."

"My family of six stayed at Vela Be Bangkok Ratchathewi for three nights (3 rooms) last week, and we had an enjoyable experience overall. We have no regrets choosing this hotel. The location is very convenient, about 700m from Ratchathewi BTS Station. There are plenty of eateries, 7-Eleven outlets, and massage centres just outside the hotel, all within easy walking distance. The room was clean and of a decent size. Basic amenities were sufficient. However, it would have been more convenient to have a kettle in the room, instead of needing to go down to the lobby for hot water and using the microwave. During our stay, the hotel shuttle service was not operating for four days due to the driver being unwell, which was slightly inconvenient. The reception staff were pleasant, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. Would I return? Yes. I would also recommend this hotel to other travellers. It offers good value for money at approximately USD 43 per night, especially considering its location and cleanliness."

GGuest UserGood as always! Though no shopping mall near the hotel, there’s 2 restaurants and 7-11 nearby. It’s only one stop from T21, and a few stops from Dusit Central Park and One Bangkok. It is also very quick to get to the airport via the airport line. I personally find it a good choice to stay in bkk with such a budget price yet enjoying a good service.

AAnonymous UserMy overall experience at this hotel was excellent. The check-in process was quick and efficient, handled by friendly front desk staff who provided great service. The room was clean and comfortable with a well-designed layout. The bed was soft and provided a good night's sleep, and the bathroom was spotless and bright with a full set of amenities. The overall environment was very relaxing. All in-room facilities, including the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and TV, worked perfectly, and I encountered no issues during my stay. The hotel's public facilities were also very well-maintained. Whether it was the restaurant, gym, or lounge areas, you could tell they put a lot of effort into their operations. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh food, catering to different guests' needs. Moreover, the hotel boasts a convenient location, close to transport links and commercial areas, making it ideal for sightseeing, shopping, or business trips. All in all, this stay left me with a wonderful impression. Not only was the accommodation comfortable, but the staff were also professional and enthusiastic, making for a very pleasant experience. If I have the chance to visit this area again in the future, I would definitely choose this hotel again and recommend it to my friends and family.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located near Ramkhamhaeng (A5) Station on Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link. Although it is about 2 km from the station, transportation is still very convenient. Guests can use the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service, take a tuk-tuk, or use a motorcycle taxi to reach the station. During Bangkok’s heavy traffic, taking the Airport Rail Link and then transferring to the BTS Skytrain or MRT is often much faster and more convenient than traveling by car. The hotel is newly opened, and the overall design is modern and attractive. It is a high-rise building with beautiful views, and both the guest rooms and public areas look stylish and new. The surrounding area is also very convenient, with shopping malls, restaurants, and supermarkets such as Big C within easy reach. However, I feel that the hotel is currently focusing more on expanding its business than on maintaining service quality. The hardware is impressive, but the housekeeping and overall management still need significant improvement. From the very first day of my stay, I noticed fingerprints and stains on the windows that had not been cleaned. There was also hair, dust, and dirt under the desk, around the bed, on the bed sheets, and in the bathroom. I requested housekeeping to clean the room more thoroughly, but unfortunately the same problems remained even after the room had been serviced. It seemed that my feedback was not taken seriously, which was disappointing and affected my overall experience. I believe this hotel has great potential because of its excellent location, modern facilities, and competitive pricing. However, a good hotel needs more than just beautiful hardware. The quality of housekeeping, staff training, attention to detail, and guest service should improve to match the excellent facilities.

GGuest Userit was an AWESOME STAY but location is a little hard to find at first. overall place was clean and people were friendly! toilet was CLEAAAAN. there is also a communal hairdryer it works pretty well. at night there is a fish auction i think. therefore, walking to 711 at 3am is pretty safe. personally as there is more people there late at night i feel it is safer. it is located beside the fish market so if you're sensitive to smells it might not be suited for you. there is also an ATM nearby. The BTS and pier is also near the hostel therefore transportation is prettty solid. lots of common areas to do your work! rooms are pretty soundproof as well! i did NOT encounter much mosquitos surprisingly! i had a mosquito bite like 5 times throughout my stay. i did not wear insect repellent at all! able to put your own food in the common fridge. shoe locker is also provided! there is also a locker to put all your stuff. there is luggage space but it is in the common area and the door is easily accessible. please do buy a lock for your luggage bedding is GOOD, mattress is GOOD, pillow can get uncomfortable though, not much neck support. a really good seafood buffet located beside the hostel! overall, i would DEFINITELY COME BACK! loved my stay there. if you're not bothered by fish smells this is probably the place for you!

WWufawutiandexionghaiziThe hotel's location is pretty good. There's a convenience store downstairs, and about 500 meters south, you'll find a large shopping mall and a night market. To the north, there are all Chinese restaurants. The room itself is quite spacious. Compared to hotels in China, the decor is a bit dated, but it's very clean and the bed is large and comfortable. The front desk staff can provide basic Chinese service, so checking in was easy. The breakfast spread is also quite rich. It might be a little far from the main attractions, though.

GGuest UserThe hotel service is excellent, with a complimentary shuttle boat to the Sathorn pier. If you want to go to ICONSIAM, it's only 12 baht, with round trips every hour, which is very convenient. There's a Ferris wheel night market nearby that's great for strolling around. The hotel provides tuk-tuks to take you to the night market anytime, allowing you to enjoy it as much as you like. The hotel's location is superb, making it easy to get anywhere. They offer airport pick-up and drop-off services; booking these in advance yourself is much cheaper than booking a taxi online. The hotel staff are very welcoming, and I had a very comfortable stay. If it's your birthday, the hotel even provides a small complimentary birthday cake. Exploring the night market and taking a cruise on the Chao Phraya River at night was a wonderful travel experience.

SSS05Holiday Inn Bangkok: Perfect Solo Weekend Retreat Near Emsphere I recently spent a relaxed long weekend (just over two nights) solo at Holiday Inn Bangkok, right next to Emsphere mall. As an NRI zipping between Hong Kong and Bangkok for work, I needed a hassle-free spot with easy access to shopping, dining, and BTS— this nailed it. Location (5/5): Smack in Sukhumvit's heart, it's a 1-min walk to Emsphere's trendy shops, cinemas, and food scene. BTS Phrom Phong is 5 mins away, making airport runs and city jaunts effortless. No taxi drama in Bangkok traffic! Room & Comfort (4.5/5): My superior room was spotless, modern, and spacious for solo use— king bed was plush, blackout curtains ensured deep sleep despite city buzz. Huge bathroom with rain shower and amenities felt luxurious. Minor nitpick: AC was a tad noisy at night, but earplugs fixed it. Free Wi-Fi was speedy for my work calls. Service & Facilities (4/5): Staff were warm and efficient—check-in was instant, and they upgraded my view gratis. Gym and pool on the 8th floor offered stunning skyline vistas; poolside was quiet for solo unwinding. Breakfast buffet was solid (fresh Thai/Western options), but could use more variety for repeat stays. Value (4.5/5): At ~THB 4,500/night (booked via app), it's a steal for the location and IHG perks. Quiet for a city hotel, ideal for solo travelers avoiding party vibes. Overall: 4.5/5. Highly recommend for short business-leisure trips. Will return!

GGuest UserAddressed to Jon Warmington, the General Manager I recently stayed at Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium room 842 from 27 May to 1 June and would like to share some feedback regarding my experience. First and foremost, I would like to emphasize that I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The hotel, facilities, and the majority of the team members provided excellent service, and overall I had a pleasant experience. In fact, I am not the type of guest who frequently raises complaints. During my travels, I spend very little time in my hotel room. Most of my day is spent outside the property, and my interaction with the hotel is generally limited to breakfast and sleeping. As such, it takes a significant issue for me to feel compelled to formally raise a concern. The first issue relates to breakfast. During my stay, I invited a Muslim friend to join me for breakfast. He entered the restaurant with me but did not consume any food because he was unable to find suitable options that met his dietary requirements. While I acknowledge that I did not raise this directly with the restaurant team at the time, I was surprised when Reception later informed me that they had verified that my friend had taken breakfast. From my perspective, entering the restaurant should not automatically be considered as consuming breakfast when no food was actually taken. Nevertheless, I have decided to let this matter rest and move on. The second issue is far more serious and is the primary reason for this email. On my final night at the hotel, I was expecting a visitor. However, Reception did not contact me to verify whether I was expecting anyone before allowing my visitor access to the guest floors. Instead, my visitor was simply directed to my room and arrived at my door unannounced. Having worked within the Accor group for approximately 15 years as a Duty Manager in Singapore, I am very familiar with hotel operational procedures, guest privacy standards, and security protocols. It has always been my understanding that when a visitor arrives for an in-house guest, Reception should first contact the guest to obtain authorization before granting access to the room floors. While my visitor was indeed expected on this occasion, Reception had no way of knowing that without contacting me first. Had the visitor not been known to me, this could have resulted in a serious security and privacy issue. In my professional opinion, allowing a visitor direct access to a guest room without prior verification is unacceptable and falls short of the standards expected from an Accor property. What further disappointed me was the handling of the matter after I raised my concern. I wish to be clear that I am not seeking compensation of any kind. My concern is not financial. Rather, I expect an appropriate resolution and acknowledgement of the seriousness of the issue. Simply being told ”sorry” was not sufficient given the nature of the security lapse. The alternatives presented to me by the Night Manager were also, in my view, unreasonable. One option was for me to move to another room on my final night. Considering that I was due to check out the following morning, I found this solution impractical and disruptive. Being asked to pack my belongings and relocate because of an issue that was not caused by me did not seem to be an appropriate resolution. I was also informed that a Reception Manager would speak with me. However, I was unable to wait indefinitely for the manager's arrival. As a guest who was raising a legitimate concern, I do not believe I should have been expected to delay my evening plans or remain available for an uncertain period of time. Furthermore, I was scheduled to leave the hotel at 7:00 AM the next morning in order to arrive at the airport early for my flight. For these reasons, I felt that the issue was not properly addressed during my stay, which is why I am bringing it directly to your attention. I am raising this matter not only as a guest but also

QQusonggaiyanThis is a very quiet place with convenient transportation. You don't have to go through the city center to get to the airport. I recommend the breakfast; it's perfect for brunch because the portions are huge. The swimming pool is usable and often empty. The soundproofing in the hotel could be better, but there wasn't anyone next door anyway. It seems popular with solo travelers, which is a good sign. The shuttle service every 30 minutes to the subway station is really convenient.
