Hotel near Dali Ancient City,Dali
The hotel is located at WenXian Road outside the ancient city of Dali Old City, near the south gate of the ancient city. Vehicles can directly reach the store gate, and walking into the ancient city is very convenient; The hotel is a traditional architecture of the Bai ethnic group, decorated in a pure ancient style, giving visitors a sense of time travel. The Waterside Pavilion in the store regularly provides guests with Chinese style performances, such as guqin, guzheng, pipa, and ethnic costume performances; The hotel's guest rooms are fully equipped with amenities, central air conditioning, elevators, and parking lots. We look forward to serving you.

"Here's my review after a recent stay with my parents, wife, and child. We booked two rooms, so the comments apply to both. **Location:** 1. It's about a ten-minute walk to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City and Gate 2 of the South Gate. 2. The hotel's location is outside the local traffic control zone, which means flexible and convenient travel. 3. It's relatively close to the Erhai Longkan Observation Deck, roughly 3 to 4 kilometers away. I'd recommend taking a Didi (ride-hailing service), which should cost around 20-30 RMB. 4. The main road outside the hotel has many late-night food stalls, great for an evening stroll and snack. **Hotel Facilities:** 1. Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with a wide variety of food options. 2. The hotel has an underground parking garage with direct elevator access to the hotel and front desk. 3. The hotel is designed in a traditional courtyard style with three floors. The first floor offers free traditional costume photo opportunities. It's also very quiet at night, ensuring a peaceful sleep. 4. The hotel rooms have a Chinese-style decor and are clean and tidy. 5. The room photos online accurately reflect the actual rooms. **Price:** You get what you pay for. I personally think it's excellent value for money. **Service:** 1. The service was warm and welcoming. 2. When we asked about local attractions, they provided insightful recommendations based on our schedule, helping us avoid wasting time. 3. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out, which was a lovely touch and made us feel very happy. **Areas for Improvement:** 1. The alley leading to the underground parking is a bit narrow, especially the turn into the garage entrance. If you're not an experienced driver, I'd suggest having someone else park. 2. It would be even more perfect if they offered afternoon tea and some snacks from 2 PM to 4 PM."

This makes the inn an ideal accommodation choice for tourists to explore Dali Old City, and also a bright pearl in the tourism accommodation market of Dali.

"This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂. They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. You can ask the friendly guys at the front desk – it's truly a one-stop service! 👍🙏 💰 Fair price ✅ 💰 Scooter rental, super cheap ✅ Clean and tidy environment ✅"

"Dali Mingyue Tang truly exceeded my expectations! This guesthouse is designed in the style of a Suzhou garden, with white walls, black tiles, and small bridges over flowing water. The courtyard is shaded by ancient trees, offering picturesque views at every turn – it's incredibly elegant. The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from the North Gate of the Old City. It's a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, and wonderfully quiet at night. The room was clean and spacious, with soft and comfortable bedding. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, plus a large bathtub – the attention to detail was excellent. The owner and staff were warm and attentive. They offer unlimited freshly ground coffee, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with incredibly authentic rice noodles. The view was easily accessible, and having a bathtub to soak in was a real treat, so relaxing! The room also provided a tea set and tea leaves, and enjoying tea on the balcony was a delightful experience. The service was excellent. They recommended some great places to visit and the restaurants they suggested were delicious. You could really tell they put a lot of heart into running this B&B. "This little hotel in Dali Ancient Town was our favourite. It is not anything fancy, but the location was perfect. Initially, I booked a hotel near the 3 Pagoda’s temple, which was more expensive. After realizing it was remote and had its own issues, we immediately decided we had to relocate. This hotel welcomed us and gave us a nice room for a very modest 105 RMB. Two single beds, which we pushed together, a good shower and amenities too. While there is no elevator, the receptionist is kind and helped us bring our bags to the second floor."

The wind of Xiaguan kisses the flowers of Shangguan; the moon of Erhai Lake shimmers on the snow of Cangshan Mountain. Dali Langlang Shanju Hotel lies nestled in this landscape of wind, flowers, snow and moon, waiting to meet you.

"Hygiene: The room was very clean and comfortable, the bedding was spotless, and the bathroom was also very clean. No need to worry about anything being dirty, I was truly satisfied. Service: The owner was really enthusiastic. They helped us with our luggage as soon as we got out of the car. Seeing that we had a large group, they even upgraded our room type for free. They were basically always accommodating, had a great temper, provided excellent service, and you can even rent electric scooters there, which is super convenient. The owner is fantastic, highly recommend staying here!"

"Loved our room in this cute hotel. Licheng provided free pick-up (in a very comfortable car) from the train station when we arrived in Dali. Our room had views of the police station next door 🙂 and the lovely Cangshan Mountain. The room was beautiful, with warm tones from the wooden flooring. Very clean, modern and high tech. Our room was on level 3, and luckily there was a lift. No need to climb stairs, except if you want to go to the rooftop. The rooftop was an excellent place to view sunrises. Licheng provided transport whenever we wanted to go to Dali Old Town. They also picked us up from the old town, when we wanted to return to the hotel. Very good service, especially from the always-smiling young man who did most of everything in this small hotel. Breakfast was rather boring, but you can top up if you're still hungry. The washing machine and dryer were located in a cramped room at the back. A space that the hotel should improve, to increase the value of the stay."

IImbazhuxiaochouThe B&B's location is great, and the environment is lovely. You can see the ancient city from the rooftop terrace, and it's only a five-minute walk away. They deliver breakfast to your room and communicate the time with guests in advance. They also have a coconut latte that I drank every day! 😁 I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to visit.

GGuest UserA 10 star experience From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the two Mo sisters and their adorable feline companions, Pirate (the black cat) and Sweet Tooth (the brown one). Everything about this stay—from the location and decor to the impeccable cleanliness and service—deserves 10 stars. The Mo sisters are incredibly friendly, chatty, and helpful, making the entire place feel like a beautifully maintained, quaint home. A few highlights: Thoughtful Details: The beds come equipped with heating pads for colder nights, which was such a nice touch. Amenities: I absolutely loved the peaceful courtyard and the rooftop area. Service: They are very attentive; for instance, if you need brighter reading lights, you just have to ask. The Atmosphere: The garden is lovingly cared for and adds so much to the vibe. Even as a dedicated dog lover, I have to admit that Pirate and Sweet Tooth completely won me over. If you are looking for a stay with character and heart, this is it!

JjessicazengBeautiful area right by the lake. Yes, a disadvantage being remote from the city areas (not walkable), but if you want to enjoy the serenity of waking up right by the lake, this is a great choice! I loved how our first-floor room had a view of the lake - very close by! Also, you can see the sunrise from this side of the lake! Very peaceful in the mornings. We coordinated with the guesthouse via Wechat beforehand, and they even helped arrange a complimentary pickup with a driver from the train station (since we were staying 3 nights). Later, we also arranged a full day with the driver to drive down Haidong (east side) from Shuanglang ancient town and southward, which was worth it, since otherwise it'd be hard to get to those locations. Cars cannot come to the guesthouse area, so the guesthouse drove a little cart to pick us and our luggage up; they also helped us when we departed. Didi from this area (from a spot ~100-200m away) takes a bit of time for the drivers to come in, but not too long. The breakfast was lightly spicy mi xian noodles, served by some aunties, with condiments like pickled vegetables, also corn, hard-boiled eggs, and banana available. I would also recommend taking time to bike along the lake - it seems there's an option to rent one for 20RMB somewhere but I couldn't find the location. A more convenient option (good for shorter bike rides) are the many shared bikes that can be scanned along the lake. If you go northward by foot or bike along the lake, there are many other guesthouses and nice cafes (including some very popular, picture-perfect wang hong cafes), along with some green fields that are nice to check out. Behind the guesthouse is a small village area; we walked here and got a late lunch on one of the days, but there doesn't seem to be as many options. Traveled here with my mom, and we were quite satisfied. I feel that relaxing inside the hotel and nearby is already pretty nice. Great stay with helpful staff!

TToosThis is probably the most comfortable and relaxing hotel/guesthouse I've stayed at in Yunnan. It wasn't planned; I usually like to take it slow and stay wherever I feel like. I found this place by chance. Since I was quite tired from traveling from Dali to Erhai Lake, a good night's sleep was really important. I slept incredibly well and felt very safe. So I stayed for two nights. The owner is from northern China and is very friendly and easygoing. There aren't many rooms in the courtyard, but they all have a stylish layout (just like him). Oh, and there's a loquat tree—it was very sweet. Don't ask me how I know; ”because I couldn't resist picking some.” The kitten was very well-behaved; it seemed to know it was very charming. The breakfast was also good, made by the owner himself. This was just the beginning; I was very happy with my stay and will definitely come back. See you next time!

WWoshixiaoyaoyaoThe super large balcony with a lazy rocking chair is absolutely amazing for sea views! The room is also quite spacious, clean, and tidy. The owners are very nice and incredibly enthusiastic. There are two cute cats in the hotel, one named Pudding and I forgot the other's name, haha. The complimentary travel photoshoot for this room type was also great; you can choose three photos for free. The photographer was excellent at guiding us and took tons of pictures very efficiently! 👍🏼

GGuest UserThis place truly made me feel at home. I arrived at the hotel starving after my business trip, heading straight into a solo vacation. The owner's father personally picked me up from the airport and even made me a warm bowl of noodles. The rest of my stay was wonderful. The room had an unbeatable location; I could see Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain the moment I woke up, and enjoyed both sunrise and sunset, plus the evening 'fish lanterns'. Reading, sunbathing, and feeling the breeze from Erhai Lake on the balcony – it was incredibly relaxing. The only downside was that the room was so comfortable, I barely wanted to leave to explore! The owner, knowing I was tired, even brought my takeout right to my room. I wish all hard-working people like them continued success!

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: The environment is good, and overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Dali. GGuest UserThis stay was absolutely perfect! The location is truly ideal – just a short walk to Renmin Road, making it super convenient for exploring the ancient city, browsing shops, and finding great food. It's nestled in a quiet spot, away from the bustling street, so it's peacefully quiet at night, ensuring a fantastic night's sleep. The guesthouse courtyard is beautifully decorated; you can tell the owner put a lot of thought into it, with lush plants and flowers everywhere – every corner is picture-perfect. The room was immaculately clean, even in the corners, and the bedding was soft and comfortable; once you lie down, you won't want to get up. The smart voice system was convenient and fun, really enhancing the experience. The bathroom's wet and dry separation design was well-planned, preventing any water accumulation or dampness. Overall, the living experience was superb, and it offers excellent value for money. This will be my top choice for any future visits to Dali!

KKN1311We took a Didi taxi from Dali High-Speed Railway Station to Huafang Guniang Bar (Flower House Girl Bar). Normally, the trip takes about 45 minutes, but because of heavy traffic, it ended up taking us around 90 minutes. When booking a Didi taxi, it’s important to be careful with this destination since there’s another place with the same name in Lijiang city. Also, it’s better not to use “Bu Xian Shan” as the destination, because this can confuse the driver. When we arrived, the guesthouse staff, Zhou Zhou and Xiao Peng, were already waiting for us. They kindly guided us to the guesthouse by walking which was only about a three-minute walk away. They even helped us download an English version of the local map, Amap which was really thoughtful and made it much easier for us to get around. On top of that, they told us about local activities and food options, which was super helpful. The guesthouse has a really great location. It’s very close to Yu’er Road, which is one of the busiest and most popular streets in Dali Ancient City. Other well-known nearby streets include Renmin Road, Fuxing Road, and Huguo Road, which is also called Foreigner Street. Being so close to these main streets makes exploring the city really convenient. There are plenty of restaurants near the guesthouse, so you won’t have trouble finding somewhere to eat. Some of the nearby places even offer BBQ, which is really convenient if you want a casual meal without going far. The room that we booked was big and had a spa and mountain view. Unfortunately, the built-in jets that created massaging, bubbling streams were not working. There was a free-wifi but the signal was weak in our room.
