Mountain View Hotels in Sapporo

"I meticulously chose this hotel after looking through many in Sapporo, and it offers excellent value for money. I selected a room on floors 15-17, and I was assigned one on the 17th, the highest floor. My corner room faces west, offering a panoramic view of the distant mountains and the lush greenery surrounding Hokkaido University. The other side faces south, where I could see the Ferris wheel 🎡 and the clock on the TV Tower 🗼. Every morning, waking up to the sight of green hills enveloped in white clouds, I felt so relaxed that I almost didn't want to leave the room. I could have visited the Hokkaido University Museum nearby, and even had a meal there, but I went on a holiday and couldn't get any food. Getting to JR Sapporo Station was very convenient, especially close to the North Exit. Even with my mobility issues, my local guide pulled me along from JR Station to the hotel, in the evening rain, with an umbrella and luggage. For someone with average stamina, it would be no problem at all. While the hotel breakfast didn't have a huge variety, it offered items I enjoyed, so I was very satisfied every morning. Their honey, labeled 'honeycomb,' was particularly interesting and delicious; I found it exceptionally sweet and fragrant, though I wonder if it was just my imagination. There were four magnetic signs on the door to indicate whether housekeeping 🧹 was needed. I chose not to have my room cleaned as I don't like others touching my bed. Each morning, I'd just place the trash outside the door and ask for two bottles of water. Inside JR Sapporo Station, there are many places to eat and shop. I bought Sapporo Agricultural College cookies, which weren't too sweet, at the Hokkaido specialty store on the first floor. There were many other shops I didn't have time to browse. Don't miss the JR Observation Deck on the 38th floor! You can go during the day, at night, or at dusk to watch the sunset. It's very convenient and beautiful. A taxi to Shiroi Koibito Park cost around 3000 yen, which is a bit pricey. Other places like Odori Park and the Ferris wheel are much closer, costing just over a thousand yen. Some reviews mentioned that the north side is quieter than the south. I agree. Since I don't enjoy shopping, the north side was perfect for me. Perhaps because my room was at the end of the hallway, it was exceptionally quiet. The guests next door seemed very quiet too. Sometimes it was so quiet it felt almost desolate. Maybe the soundproofing of the windows is excellent."

"The hotel is conveniently located right next to Nakajima Park. The park itself is beautiful, offering great sights, plenty of crows and ducks, and an overall wonderful environment. Right nearby is also the Junichi Watanabe Memorial Museum, which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel's breakfast was good, especially the salmon and curry soup."

"This hotel is really great! We added 2700 yen per person for breakfast. I was surprised at how well-maintained this hotel is, considering it's over 50 years old. It has a real sense of quality, especially the cabinets and such. As an InterContinental Hotels Group member, I showed my card and received two extra bottles of water."

"The hotel is located between New Chitose Airport and Sapporo city center. It takes about half an hour to reach Sapporo. If you're looking to shop, staying in Sapporo is more convenient. However, this hotel is a good option if you have an early flight the next day. The room had a very strong disinfectant smell; I suggest the hotel improves its ventilation."

"This was the first hotel I stayed at in Sapporo seven years ago, and I chose it again this time. I really love this hotel. Its location next to Nakajima Park is fantastic, and there are several convenience stores nearby. It's also an easy walk to Susukino, which is very convenient. The staff service is excellent as always, and the hotel rooms are larger than most in Japan. The only slight issue this time was that our room was close to the elevator, so it got a bit noisy when guests passed by late at night."

"Before our trip, I emailed several hotels regarding our honeymoon, and only Sapporo Odori and Grand Park Otaru replied. Hotels in Toya, Hakodate, and Noboribetsu, all costing over 3K, didn't respond. Grand Park Otaru was by far the most proactive, even arranging a complimentary cake for us. Highly recommend! Although it's a bit far from the popular spots, getting a taxi is very convenient."

"It’s a more traditional and older ryokan so it tends to have older furniture and rooms that may not be the cleanest. The onsen was lovely and service was good with a convenient gift shop on the first floor. Walkable to a small street with a couple of gift shops a few food places"

"The hotel is short distance away from the major sightseeing spots at jozankei, but still walkable distance. That allows a tranquil and relaxing environment which you can truly enjoy the stay and immerse yourself into the nature. The resort is beautiful and room is super spacious. The buffet is wonderful. All the food are very fresh which make you feel very healthy. The onsen are nice. However, I found the temperature of outdoor bath too high. I feel recharged after the stay, both physically and mentally."

"The hotel is nearly an hour away from Sapporo by bus. I booked it because I saw that there was a pick-up service. Who knew that the phone call on the day said that there was no pick-up service. I looked at the Ctrip page again and needed to click in to see it. I needed to communicate with the merchant. I was careless. The hotel reception seemed to be from northern China, so there was no communication barrier throughout the whole process. The room is a full Japanese style room, you can brush your teeth, wash your face and go to the toilet in the room. The bathing and hot spring bathing are downstairs and end at 11 o'clock. Because of the bus, the time is quite tight. We left early in the morning because of the long distance. Overall, the experience is pretty good"
